prepping-food-storage-in-the-home.pdf
For those of you pointing out the food pyramid in the second PDF, yes it is one of the greatest lies sold to the public. You will notice that grains are the biggest portion of a 'diet'. I think most of us already know meat belongs there instead. The FDA has been a scam organization for a long time. I posted this document for its food storage information.

Folks I just lost a few cans in my storage room... does anyone have a recommendation for a top limit on humidity?
Ham Radio Nets.pdf

Radio "nets". Ham radio operators have developed a protocol for exchanging information by stations which cannot hear each other directly. A man in the middle coordinates and relays traffic. That "net control operator" will ask if there is any traffic and one or more people may key up and say only their callsign (or the last few letters in their call sign). The control operator will then address them in order. When he calls on a particular operator, that operator will give his full callsign and give the message to the net control. Net control will either call to see if the intended recipient is listening and verbally relay that message on the spot or store it until later. Rinse Lather, Repeat.

Here's a document describing other net types.

Have you downloaded maps of your area? https://ngmdb.usgs.gov/topoview/viewer/#9/ . Get the 1:24000 scale maps. They print to D size plotter paper. Never know when internet wonโ€™t be available and you need to plan a trip to the grocery store or city hall.
Letโ€™s play fire drill. Those on you on a well pumpโ€ฆ if your pump failed today do you have a waterproof splice kit? All the pvc fittings to put it back together?
My random thought for the day. Laser sights are sure cool aren't they? The green or red dot on your target makes aiming super easy. You only see the dot... but you know what? The other person sees a line of light thru the air. The laser light scatters in the dust and humidity... it makes a readily apparent line back to YOU. There's a saying that tracers work in both directions. Well, laser pointers work better in the reverse direction. Tritium gunsights allow you to aim and not give away your position. Something to think about.
How to one shot zero your rifle. Ammo is expensive presently. Mount a laser pointer on your rifle along side your scope. Zero the laser and the scope so that the laser is right on the cross hairs. Shoot your target. Now the magic... After your shot, hold the scope on the bullseye of your target. Have an assistant use allen wrench to adjust the laser to the point of impact. If you are good you can do this yourself. Now move the windage and elevation of the scope to the laser dot. One shot zero.
Poor man's range finder... mount laser pointed under your barrel on bottom piccatiney rail. zero the laser dot so that it coincides with the crosshairs in your scope at a known distnace, say 100 yards. Done. Now if you aim for something that is, say, 500 yards away, the laser will appear ABOVE the crosshairs. If you aim for something that is 1/2 of 100 yards the laser will appear BELOW the cross hairs. If you have a mil-dot scope, you can stake out a few distances and measure exactly how high the laser is above the crosshairs at known distances. Bonus points if you use a momentary switch on the laser pointer. Doesn't take 1/2 a second for you to illuminate a target with the laser and see how high above the cross hairs it is.
Electrical wiringโ€ฆ. In the case of having an outlet in the middle of a branch circuit, you can either wire through the duplex outlet or connect the wires together with a short pig tail over to the outlet. The pigtail method is better because 1) the current for the downstream outlets doesnโ€™t go thru this outlet, 2)because there are fewer wires to the outlet, it is easier to push into the box.

Itโ€™s been a few days since our last fire drill. Ladies, there is a supply chain disruption. How do you cope with your monthly issues? Do you have girl supplies? Do you have a silicon menstrual cup?
"Despite all of the progress weโ€™ve made, menstruation is still a very taboo subject. So taboo that it often gets overlooked โ€“ even in situations where it is of dire concern. For example, the FEMA and Red Cross disaster supplies lists donโ€™t mention menstruation anywhere. Instead, they gloss over the issue by writing you should stockpile โ€œsanitation and personal hygiene items.โ€

A giant stockpile of tampons isnโ€™t going to do you much good if you have to evacuate your home. Likewise, if your home gets flooded, those tampons will be ruined.

Then what?"
