Sequatchie Cove Farm doesn’t just raise cattle! They also have a thriving chicken business producing around 300 dozen eggs a day!
4,000 chickens might sound big - but the way the Keeners raise their flock is very different from the industrial chicken operations with hundreds of thousands of chickens.
By following behind grazing ruminants, and moving frequently, the Keeners are providing healthy food for their community while building deep, healthy soils.
When you support local farmers directly, you allow them to work with nature - that’s good for everyone!

Just had a discussion about standby generator with one of our members here. He has a Champion 8.5kw LP home standby generator. He's actually on his 2nd one. It appears they offer a 10 year warranty, but there's that word "limited". In this case Limited means when used for home standby. When used in an off grid application, all bets are off. He got 600 hours on it when an oil leak started. It dumped a valve at 750 hours. https://www.championpowerequipment.com/product/100177-8-5-kw-select-circuit-home-standby-generator-and-50a-switch/ .
So let's do some math... the unit is $2600, expected off grid life is 750hours... $3.46/hour. Costs you 1 gallon of LP per hour to run at half load, so $4/hr. Total cost to run looks like $7.46 / hr. It will generate 4.25kw at half power x 750 hours = 3187kwh in it's life.
Now let's do a little comparison... I just ran my home from 100% battery solar for 365days using 75kwh of batteries. What I found was that if I got 30kwh more of battery, I would never have had to run a generator. For the additive price of $3200, I just ordered 30kwh of battery. The amount in energy in/out of my batteries for the past year showed a cumulative cycle count of 160 cycles out of 4000 on the batteries. At this rate those batteries should last >20 years.
TLDR: I just spend $600 more than a generator would cost so that I never have to run a generator. Think in terms of cost avoidance.

The EFF held a march and rally in Kimberley, South Africa, to demand the dissolution of Orania
They argue that the prosperity of Orania’s small Afrikaner community is an "insult" to Blacks in the region

There's a story to go with this... Mom fell off a horse and broke her wrist. Dad called and said he was taking her to the hospital and asked if I would come by and put the horses up. So my (now) ex wife and I drove up to their house. While I was putting the horses up, she took it upon herself to clean the cast iron skillet on the stove. She commented about how much crud was on it but some elbow grease soap and hot water and she had it pretty clean. My dad never forgave her for that.

Also, we finished cleaning out a 40x40 barn on another part of the property. Filled up a 20yard dumpster in about 2 hours. Found a few mice. A skeletonized possum.... a 100 year old set of golf clubs.

In my opinion, everyone should have some silver as a store of wealth and means of barter (in SHTF scenario).
Constitutional or “junk” silver is a great start. That is pre 1965 US coins. Dimes, quarters, half dollars. (this is 90% pure silver). 10%copper to give it hardness to reduce wear.
Silver Eagles are great too.
Other sovereigns such as Maples and Philharmonics are just fine. You can also go with generic rounds and bars. All these are 99.9% pure. So they are soft and will wear easily so not great for carrying around in your pocket with other coins.
If you want to buy silver I have some important suggestions:
1. Only buy from a reputable dealer (I like, SD Bullion, Myles Franklin and Pinehurst coins). Local coin shops that have been around for a while can be great too. So look locally first but otherwise see dealers I listed above. This way you know it’s real and not fake stuff.
2. Do not buy “numismatic” coins. These are graded coins. They sell at large premium prices to just regular stuff. Just buy regular stuff at low premium.
3. Know the spot price of silver before you buy and shop around.
4. Do not buy from individuals (especially from China) on EBay or Walmart. It’s likely gonna be fake silver.
I’ve bought off EBay for years with no issues but I only buy from large established US dealers. Pinehurst is selling tubes of Eagles at a competitive price right now.
I’ve been stacking Ag since 2009 and my father did for decades before that. So if anyone here has questions, please reach out.
