I mention this because some are building tiny houses and when space is tight you may end up with just this problem... toilet flange needs to be installed over a floor joist. But not everybody remembers toilets have 2 additional rough-in sizes:
Toilets also come in 10-inch and 14-inch rough-ins.

That bit of knowledge can be a true lifesaver. Let me show you what I mean…
