Here in the South, there's always a crazy buying frenzy at the first freeze of the year where peple buy those goofy styrofoam cups to cover your hose bibs. But there's a better way.... a frost free hose bib. It moves the valve inside your wall and the conenction where you hook up the hose is drained and dry when it's shut off.

Not exactly off grid related but.... Eaton now makes a EV car charger in the form factor of one of their circuit breakers. This is a boon because it leverages all of the panel boxes which are already existing and outdoor rated. The model number is BREVEM2040.
