Yours truly got his drone license today. Got an 87 on the exam. If you wonder why it's been a little quiet and not offgrid related.... been studying for pilot license and thursday went to an agricultural trade show. We setup the drone along with a TV playing B roll footage of the drone flying.

Noted yesterday that one of our dogs has a gash in his back, I suspect he was trying to get out from under a trailer and sliced his back. But it happened the same night those 30 chicks went missing. Our other large dog hasn't been eating and I think we gunna take him to the vet tomorrow. He's got megasophagus and we worry he may have something stuck in his throat. We feed him standing almost stright up on a platform I built for him. AND I noted one of the hens today has a lame foot. Caught her and hte poor thing has all the tendons on the front of her "ankle" shredded. Shes walking on the top on her foot because there is no way those tendons will ever be right again. Sweet girl... she didn't fuss at all while I was looking her over. We thought at first she might have sprained it or her hip joint... typically a frisky rooster will be too rough... we had planned to put her in the chicken ICU to let her get some R & R... but instead we put her in with the remaining chicks so she doesn't have to fight for food. Poor thing.

OK, so..... The big news this weekend is that someone (ahem) in this house left the laundry room sink running to fill a bucket and forgot about it for 2 hours. They said 45 minutes but I checked the home automation system and it was 2 hours. The result of this is that water flowed thru all the pipe penetrations in the floor of the laundry room and onto the steel joists in the basement ceiling. From there it flowed in those joists which are C shaped. It flowed over to the gun room... I had put all my ammo on a 3/4 raised board but I didnt' count on water from the top. About half of my guns, several thousands of rounds of various calibers got soaked. But don't worry, the rug in the laundry room sat out in the sun all day and is dry now.
