The NYT is suing OpenAI + Microsoft for its alleged use of millions of NYT copyright articles in training.

AI has clearly increased the stakes of data flows on the internet.

Previously scraping and other data sourcing was relatively low scale, only powering sophisticated buyers in infrequent deals.

Now, of course, there's real opportunity cost for letting your data be used by others in a way you do not intend.

Interestingly, this coincides with the coming demise of cookies, rising tide of state privacy laws, and Apple's new anti-fingerprinting Privacy Manifests for iOS.

But let's not overlook the titans shaping the AI revolution. The race to become the next trillion-dollar giants is on, and AI is the fuel powering the tech giants.
