Activity has increased at Russia's Taganrog-Central air base over the past month. This base is one of several used by Russian aircraft operating over Ukraine. Satellite imagery from today shows several transport planes as well as new paths created for vehicles and equipment. Since this was an 18th Guards Military Transport Aviation Division base, I wonder if this is just the Il-76s that are regularly part of the base returning.

The engine of MiG-31K flying over Maladzechna caught fire: local residents heard an explosion.
Ukrainian Telegram channels spread information about an explosion in Belarus. Our data indicates that it was not an explosion, but probably a compressor stall. At around 12:00 (Minsk time), residents of the Maladzechna district (Minsk region) heard a strong explosion in the sky, many wrote that it shook the windows in the houses in Maladzechna and near it.
According to the Belarusian Hajun, at 10:59 (Kyiv time), one of the two engines of the Russian MiG-31K (RF-95194) that was flying near Maladzechna caught fire, which was accompanied by a sound of explosion. In fact, it was the sound of a compressor stall after the fire.
As a result, the Russian MiG-31K (RF-95194) had to urgently end the flight and return to Machulishchy airfield.
It’s notable that the engine of the same MiG-31K that burned on December 25, 2022 while trying to take off from Machulishchy airfield caught fire.
