According to the New York Times, citing U.S. officials, U.S. forces have guided approximately 70 commercial vessels, both ways, through the Strait of Hormuz in the last three weeks. Per the report, most of the vessels transited with their transponders off to avoid being targeted by Iranian fires and also transited closer to Oman, away from routes designated by Iran’s Persian Gulf Strait Authority.

🇺🇸🇵🇭 For what appears to be the 1st time, a @USCG cutter is operating directly alongside the @coastguardph in a joint presence operation challenging Beijing's exclusion zone around #ScarboroughShoal (Bajo de Masinloc).
🛰️ Automatic Identification System tracking data from @StarboardIntel shows the USCG cutter Midgett sortieing from Manila Bay on 28 May alongside PCG cutter BRP Melchora Aquino & taking station on the western approaches to the shoal starting yesterday, 29 May and holding roughly 35-40 nm out.
🇵🇭 Also visible in the operation are PCG patrol vessel BRP Cabra & Bureau of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources BRP Datu Pagbuaya (now returning to Manila Bay, followed closely by CCG 21563). History suggests others may also be involved but operating "AIS-dark".
🇨🇳 Arrayed against them is a layered Chinese paramilitary cordon: at least 9 CCG cutters are visible on AIS forming an outer picket line 20-40nm from the shoal, while at least 7 large militia vessels are visible forming an inner cordon 5-17nm out.
🇨🇳 Past experience strongly suggests PLA Navy vessels (not visible on AIS) are also in the area, but will likely keep their distance to ensure no repeats of the disastrous 11 August 2025 "friendly fire" collision near Scarborough.
🤝 This direct involvement by the USCG in a Philippine challenge to China's maritime aggression inside the West Philippine Sea is a significant step forward for the alliance.

A video showing what appears to be a naval mine purported to be in Omani waters in the Strait of Hormuz has begun circulating on various social media platforms, following the announcement yesterday from Oman's Ministry of Defense warning mariners of a suspected naval mine in their waters. While the authenticity of this video can not be verified, the mine appears to be most similar to an Iranian Maham-1 moored contact mine.

ruzzia arrested Shevchenko at age 33 for his writing calling for Ukraine's freedom, criticizing serfdom of Ukrainians (agricultural slavery, which he was born into) and "slander" of the tsar
He was made to walk 2,500 km to forced military service in central ruzzia, his work was banned and he was prohibited from writing or painting (he was also an acclaimed artist)
Shevchenko was allowed to return to Ukraine only 12 years later, but was quickly arrested and exiled again, dying in ruzzia at age 47 in poor health due to the awful conditions and abuses of exile and military service
As he had asked in "My Testament," Shevchenko is buried overlooking the Dnipro River, at Taras Hill in the Shevchenko National Reserve, in Kaniv
