🇮🇷🇺🇸 The U.S. military carried out new strikes in Iran tonight, Reuters reports.
The strikes targeted a military site that officials believed posed a threat to American forces and commercial maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, a U.S. official said.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the U.S. military has also intercepted and shot down multiple Iranian drones that posed a similar threat.

"On May 27, at the direction of SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Two male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed."
