RT @NSTRIKE1231: 🇺🇸🇮🇷 The latest developments ahead of a potential US-Iran peace agreement:
🔺 The potential agreement between the US and Iran requires Iran to renounce nuclear weapons and begin negotiations on handing over its stockpiles of highly enriched uranium, while simultaneously halting new uranium enrichment. Details regarding the removal of the stockpiles and the duration of the enrichment suspension will be finalized later — CNN reports.
🔷 Tehran has not agreed to remove its highly enriched uranium stockpiles from the country, and the nuclear issue is not part of the current preliminary agreement with the US — Reuters reports, citing Iranian officials.
🇮🇷 The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces (Khatam al-Anbiya) states that the Supreme Leader’s directives regarding control of the Strait of Hormuz will be fully implemented — “There is no place for foreigners in the new mechanism for managing the region.”
🟥 The Iranian news agency Tasnim reports that the phrase “continuation of the ceasefire” does not appear in the Memorandum of Understanding. Instead, the text declares the end of the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon. Issues related to the Strait of Hormuz and the naval blockade will be discussed within 30 days, while 60 days are allocated for nuclear negotiations.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran is ready to convince the world it is not seeking nuclear weapons, but warned that his negotiating team will not compromise on the country’s “dignity and pride.”
▪️ Two regional high-ranking officials told the Associated Press that the potential agreement includes Iran’s commitment not to develop nuclear weapons and to cede its stockpiles of highly enriched uranium, while negotiations on sanctions relief and the release of frozen funds will take place within 60 days.

Ukrainian rescuers say Russia's Oreshnik strike on Bila Tserkva set a garage cooperative on fire. Three garages burned. Apparently that's what an Oreshnik is worth. https://twitter.com/wartranslated/status/2058482446719439315/photo/1

Iran has again denied that the nuclear issue is not part of negotiations, as Reuters, citing a senior Iranian official, is now reporting that they have not agreed to hand over enrichment materials. Earlier this week, Iran steadfastly denied reports that they may be willing to accede to this measure, and their reiteration of the demand again puts their public position at loggerheads with that of the Trump administration.

RT @BrettErickson28: Once the $25B is handed over to Iran… the jig is up for the United States.

The oft-cited analysis which highlights the monetary value of economic damage imposed on Iran per day via the U.S. blockade of $435M/day has been a key driver for the US war strategy.

In all reality, we need to adjust that figure slightly downwards to account for the ~200,000 barrels per day Iran has been able to export via land borders. Given current prices, and the discount Iranian oil is sold at of ~$8/barrel, we can adjust by: 200,000 x $97 = $19.4M/day.

Call it $20M/day. So Iran has seen economic losses, OPTIMISTICALLY (from the point of view of the U.S.), of ~$415M/day. Given that the blockade has been in effect for 41 days (since 4/13/26), that equates to:

41 x $415M = $17.015B

Call it $17B

Once that $25B is handed over by the United States, the past 41 days will have been for naught. Actually… less than naught. During this time, Iran has been able to resupply, reposition, and harden their defenses without seeing further strikes from the United States. So it is NOT an “unwinding of the past 41 days”.

It is a major swing of the pendulum in favor of Iran.

The economic damage from the blockade? Gone. Iran’s readiness for any resumption of military operations? Hardened. Any hopes of United States victory? Lost. Forever.

The blockade and economic warfare campaign was doomed from the start. Myself, and many of my colleagues, tried desperately to voice the flaws of it.

Why would a regime that has been under pressure for 47 years cave under slightly more pressure for 2 months?

Why would oil well shut-ins “explode their oil infrastructure” when Iran shut-in safely in 2012 and 2019?

Why would Iran roll over and allow their oil storage to fill up in 13 days without countering this strategy to extend the timeline?

Why would short-term economic damage matter when they hold generational leverage with their control over the Strait of Hormuz?

Why would we assume the Iranian’s have a lower economic time horizon than countries in Asia and Africa cut off from substantial energy and fertilizer resources?

In so many ways, the blockade and economic warfare campaign was doomed from the start. It was a failed strategy that has blown up in our faces catastrophically.

But once that $25B is handed over to Iran? The jig is up for the United States.

According to @TreyYingst, reporting for Fox News, the current U.S.-Iran deal framework on the table has U.S. forces staying in the Iranian local region for 30 days, while frozen Iranian assets and funds. Additionally, per the report, sanctions waivers would be granted to Iran as well.

However, amidst reports of the two sides achieving convergence on key issues, the U.S. side has continued to push that enriched material being handed over and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz are two key points of contention that Iran has been willing to work on, but Iranian outlets continue to deny such claims.
