About two dozen American and Nigerian Special Forces conducted a helicopter-borne assault against Abu Bilal al-Mainuki's compound in the Lake Chad area in northeast Nigeria.
US-Nigerian troops battled on the ground against ISWAP fighters for nearly three hours before realizing they wouldn't surrender, air assets then bombed the area killing the jihadists including the high value target.

Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao has announced that the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group and personnel of Carrier Strike Group Twelve (CSG-12) have been awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for their service in the Middle East during the recent Iran War. In his statement, Secretary Cao cities the coordinated targeting of 125 Iranian warships and the launch of 207 Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAM) against targets in Iran, along with more than 1,700 combat air sorties from the Mediterranean and the Red Sea.
