🇺🇸🇮🇷 The Pentagon is considering renaming the war with Iran from “Operation Epic Fury” to “Operation Sledgehammer” if the ceasefire collapses and Trump orders a resumption of major combat operations, according to NBC News.
The proposed name change would allow the administration to argue that renewed fighting constitutes a new military operation, effectively restarting the 60-day congressional authorization clock under the 1973 War Powers Resolution.
Although Trump has not yet approved renewed hostilities, officials said the ongoing blockade is currently giving Washington leverage without major combat operations. One official warned, however, that “the status quo will not persist.”
The Trump administration declared the end of Operation Epic Fury after the April ceasefire with Iran, but the Pentagon has continued using the name publicly, with one official saying the operation technically remains active and that the ceasefire only paused large-scale fighting.

🇺🇸 One USAF B-1B "Lancer" strategic bomber from RAF Fairford, UK is flying eastwards above the Mediterranean Sea with its transponder enabled.
These flights are regularly conducted and do not mean an imminent attack against Iran, but they are usually conducted with transponders disabled. Its purpose is likely for a show-of-force against Iran, similar to transponder-enabled fighter jets & strategic aviation flying near Venezuela in the weeks and days before the abduction of Nicolas Maduro.
