RT @BrettErickson28: I find myself to be in a very fortunate position throughout this conflict. I own my own company, a due to a variety of circumstances, am not overly dependent on income flows. This also means my “employer” does not influence my posts.
I am not affiliated with any think tank or institution that would require me to align with any predetermined positions. This allows me to objectively assess situations as they unfold.
(If you are in the media and have talked to me on the phone, you will know how candid I am)
That does not mean I do not have biases, but that does mean I don’t need to sugarcoat anything.
Sometimes, and you can argue with a wall, Donald Trump has great policies and accomplishments.
Other times, like we see with the Iran War, Donald Trump has disastrous policies that will define his presidency.
Unfortunately for the United States and American populous, Donald Trump is cornered, and there is no viable pathway to which he can credibly claim victory.
The blockade, initially promised to produce significant results in 13 days, is now on day 27… with another ~40-50 days still to go.
Kinetic strikes, while militarily successful, did not produce the necessary strategic outcomes of regime change or concessions at the negotiating table.
Trump is well aware of the domestic opposition to any future military action (and the opposition of previous action), but with the economic warfare campaign failing, Trump must now be seeing the writing on the wall that his legacy is in tatters.
While I can’t guarantee I will always be right on here, I hope to be able to bring forth rational, levelheaded, and reliable posts that can help to shape how others perceive the realities the United States, Iran, and the World face during this conflict.
Good or bad, I intend to shoot you straight.

PM Narendra Modi urged Indians to cut back on fuel use as global energy markets remain under pressure.
Modi encouraged businesses to revive work-from-home arrangements and shift meetings online to reduce petrol and diesel consumption.
He also called on citizens to avoid foreign travel and postpone gold purchases for 1 year to help preserve India’s foreign exchange reserves.
In addition, households were asked to reduce their use of edible oils as part of a broader push to curb imports and ease pressure on the economy.

EU Foreign Ministers just gave the go-ahead to sanction Israeli settlers over violence against Palestinians.
They also agreed new sanctions on leading Hamas figures.
It was high time we move from deadlock to delivery.
Extremisms and violence carry consequences.

Iran’s state-backed news agency Irib News details Iranian conditions for negotiations with the U.S., following U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s reaction that called their response “totally unacceptable.” The terms, just a reiteration of their previous statements, include, but are not limited to, releasing frozen Iranian funds and assets, war reparations, and Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. - OSINTdefendertweet

In the German city of Augsburg, Russians held "Grandfathers on sticks" march on May 9. However, there was a catch: for several hours, the procession also featured portraits of Stepan Bandera, Mykola Khvylovy, and Vasyl Malyuk. Neither the participants nor the organizers noticed anything suspicious.

The family of a victim killed in the April 2025 Florida State University mass shooting is suing OpenAI, alleging ChatGPT actively guided the attacker. The lawsuit claims shooter Phoenix Ikner shared firearm images with ChatGPT, which explained how to operate them, noted the Glock had no safety, and told him mass shootings get more national attention "if children are involved." ChatGPT also allegedly told Ikner that the FSU student union peaks between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. He opened fire at 11:57 a.m. OpenAI says ChatGPT "is not responsible" and only provided publicly available information. Florida AG James Uthmeier has launched a criminal investigation. - NBC

🇺🇲🇨🇳 US intelligence says that Beijing considered supplying air defense systems to Iran through other countries to conceal its own involvement.
President Trump plans to confront Xi Jinping at the summit in Beijing this week over allegations that China is selling weapons to Iran.
It is still unclear what Trump will offer China in exchange for cooperation, but it may include easing the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump also plans to urge China to increase purchases of American oil.
