IRAN NEGOTIATIONS RESPONSE
WSJ and Al Mayadeen report that Iran is demanding an end to the blockade, unrestricted oil exports, sanctions relief, the release of frozen assets, a ceasefire in Lebanon, and continued Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz.
On the nuclear issue, Tehran is offering to dilute part of its enriched uranium and transfer the remainder to a third country, with guarantees it would be returned if talks collapse.
Iran wants all negotiations routed through Pakistan and says nuclear talks would begin only after the war ends.
The main sticking point may be Lebanon, which Tehran included as part of the broader deal.

Iran’s reported terms to end the war include lifting the blockade, restoring its ability to export oil, removing US sanctions, unfreezing Iranian assets, and securing a ceasefire in Lebanon.
Tehran is also demanding recognition of Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz.

The HEU stockpile was guaranteed by the JCPOA. And it was produced starting in 2021 when Rob Malley was busy appeasing the regime as special envoy. Trump is saving the world from the Obama-Biden disaster. And that is an understatement. - Richard Goldbergtweet

RT @BrettErickson28: While Trump rants about how much money Obama “gave” to Iran, I want to republish my post from a few days ago that examines how Trump directly gave more than $5B to Iran… a few weeks ago…
While Washington is attempting to economically strangle Iran through Operation Economic Fury, the question begging to be asked is: Do you remember when the United States unsanctioned 150M-170M barrels of Iranian Oil?
Pepperidge Farms remembers.
Fantastic data from Bloomberg shows that on the date of General License U being authorized by Scott Bessent, Iranian oil was being sold at a discount of -$7 per barrel compared to Brent. After the sanctions were lifted, they sold at a $1 PREMIUM to Brent... and $8/barrel swing.
Calculating for this so-called "Sanctions Premium", we can estimate that Iran was able to rake in ~$1.2B from this sanctions waiver beyond what they otherwise would have gained through their illicit sales to China.
However, on Feb 27, Brent Crude was trading at $72.27/barrel. Throughout the entirety of the time General License U was in effect, the price of oil hovered around $100/barrel. This is a direct and immediate result of the US strikes on Iran.
As a result, we can also calculate the "Iran War Premium" difference ~$27.73/barrel. This equates to $4.16B in additional revenues to Iran during this time.
While it is unclear how much Iranian oil was sold during this time (because Treasury failed to include reporting requirements in the waiver), it can be reasonable asserted the Iran had the potential to garner an "Iran War + Sanctions Premium" windfall of ~$5.36B.
So as a result of launching this foolish war, compounded with the foolish decisions from Treasury to unsanction Iranian oil to... "jiujitsu" them... (?), Washington handed Iran a whopping $5.36B in additional energy revenues at a time when we are desperate to strangle the Iranian regime during Operation Economic Fury.
That $5.36B is coming back to bite us now that the blockade continues to fail to produce results.

Iran has responded to the U.S. proposal centered on the potential 14-point memorandum of understanding between the two countries. Per a report from the Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, points of contention between the two remain centered on when and if nuclear enrichment will be discussed. Iran continues to demand that nuclear enrichment not be discussed prior to a lasting cessation of hostilities while the U.S. sees such discussions as a must before that can be realized. Additionally, per the report, Iran has also reiterated its position that they may be willing to dilute some of its enriched material and the other highly enriched material transferred to a third party country. Presumably Russia. Iran’s response also reiterated that nuclear issues be discussed during a 30-day negotiations period following the cessation of hostilities.

🇮🇷🇺🇸 BIG | According to the Wall Street Journal, Iran has sent a multipage response to the latest U.S. proposal to end the war, although gaps between the two sides remain.
Iran proposes an end to the fighting and a gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, on the condition that the U.S. lifts the blockade on Iranian ports.
Negotiations regarding nuclear issues are to be held over the next 30 days.
Iran is willing to suspend uranium enrichment, but for a shorter period than the 20-year moratorium proposed by the U.S. Furthermore, Tehran categorically rejects the dismantling of its nuclear facilities.
Iran proposes that a portion of its highly enriched uranium be diluted, while the remaining part be transferred to a third country, with guarantees that the uranium will be returned if negotiations fail or if the U.S. later withdraws from the agreement.

Trump: ‘We just secured the release of three Polish, and two Moldovan, prisoners from Belarusian and Russian detention. Thanks to my Special Presidential Envoy, John Coale, we were able to push hard to make this release happen. My friend, President Karol Nawrocki, of Poland, met with me last September, and asked me to help secure Andrzej Poczobut from Belarusian prison. Today, Poczobut is free due to our efforts.
