The UAE is secretly moving crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz despite Iran's closure threat. At least four ADNOC tankers shipped 6 million barrels of Upper Zakum and Das crude in April with tracking systems switched off. Cargoes were transferred offshore, stored in Oman, or routed to South Korea and Malaysia, according to Reuters.

RT @BrettErickson28: Every single vessel that infiltrates the US blockade buys Iran more time until they are forced to shut-in.
This is completely unacceptable from the United States. + 1 day… +1 day… +1 day… over and over and over again.
Unacceptable.

Cargo-empty, US-sanctioned tankers are still arriving.
Today, the VINA/VALLEY (9157478), which routinely delivers Iranian LPG to the Houthis in Yemen, managed to enter the blockade perimeter; and she's pinging on AIS. A larger Iranian oil tanker arrived as well. It's empty tankers like these that buy Tehran more time.

RT @BrettErickson28: Speaking with @NewsNation earlier this week, I answered the question of whether or not the blockade has been successful.
There are two critical aspects to this:
Has the blockade resulted in a lessening of traffic from Iran to the global economy?
And
… So what?
@connellmcshane, correctly I might add, actually pushed back slightly just prior to my response, stating that they’ve had other guests on the show say that the blockade HAS been successful.
And guess what? That’s TRUE! … in a way…
From an inflow/outflow perspective, the blockade absolutely has had an impact on Iran. 100%. Has it been “totally” effective where zero vessels have been unable to infiltrate or exfiltrate? No, but it certainly has resulted in a net lowering of overall Iranian traffic.
But here’s the kicker: So what?
In order for the blockade to be deemed a success, one of two outcomes must result from it:
1) Iran capitulates at the negotiating table, which does not seem to be what they are doing.
Or
2) Mass uprisings take place due to oil well shut-ins and hyperinflation that topple the regime.
This is where it is abundantly clear the blockade has FAILED.
If the blockade and overall economic warfare campaign does not produce one of those two results, what is the actually outcome we will see?
A furthering of pain incurred by the Iranian bystander. Someone that only wants to feed their family, but must now pay higher prices to do so. Someone that wants to get medical supplies, only to find that the wealthy elites in Tehran have already stocked up. Someone wanting to continue to operate their business, but nobody is able to spend outside of necessities.
One can make the argument, as many have, that the blockade and economic warfare campaign is a necessary evil, even if it means additional short-term pain for the average Iranian. But with the oil well shut-in timeline being demonstrably false, it is clear Washington employed this strategy under delusional pretenses.
Unless the blockade topples the regime, or produces diplomatic outcomes we were unable to achieve through military action, the only thing it will have accomplished is adding yet more suffering to the Iranian civilians just trying to survive.
