🇺🇸🇮🇷 Reuters reports, citing official sources, that against the backdrop of a naval blockade, a U.S. Navy "Arleigh Burke" class destroyer stopped 2 Iranian oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, which were trying to leave the port of Chabahar. 🇺🇲🇮🇷 According to American officials who spoke to The Wall Street Journal, since the start of the maritime blockade on Monday, the U.S. Navy has stopped a total of eight Iranian oil tankers attempting to enter or leave Iranian ports. In all cases, American forces contacted the crews via radio communication and ordered them to change course. All tankers complied with the request, so boarding and inspection of the vessels were not necessary.
🇺🇸 According to Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the blockade of Iranian ports "is fully implemented because U.S. forces maintain maritime superiority in the Middle East." Cooper added that in the approximately 36 hours since the blockade began on Monday, "U.S. forces have completely halted maritime economic trade entering and leaving Iran."

"It could end either way, but I think a deal is preferable because then they can rebuild. They really do have a different regime now. No matter what, we took out the radicals. They’re gone, no longer with us."
