RT @glcarlstrom: A temporary moratorium on enrichment is probably a workable compromise. You just have to haggle over the duration: Iran won't accept 20 years; Trump can't sell five years.

But you have a bunch of other issues beyond that:

- the HEU is of course the big one. Iran wants to downblend rather than ship it out, which doesn't seem like a dealbreaker (it loses the stockpile either way). But who's going to monitor that process, on what timetable will it occur, etc.

- then you have other issues around enrichment and weaponization: can Iran continue to develop centrifuges? What about other aspects of R&D? Does it have to dismantle any nuclear facilities or refrain from building new ones? Again, how is all this monitored?

Also notable that there's no mention at all of missiles and proxies. These were supposedly red lines for America in the February talks. But they don't feature at all in any of the reporting (including mine) about the current negotiations.

That's probably realistic. Iran won't negotiate around missiles, and even if Iran agreed to concessions around proxies, they were always going to be hard to verify. Still, notable that they've disappeared. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/13/us/politics/us-iran-deal.html

RT @NeilPHauer: The war in Iran may have reached an uneasy ceasefire. But for Iranians themselves, stuck under a suffocating comms blackout and a regime that shows no signs of falling, nothing is clear.

RT @NSTRIKE1231: 🇸🇮 Slovenia is discussing a possible exit from NATO:

▪️ The country’s new parliamentary speaker, Zoran Stevanović, said he plans to organize a referendum on leaving the alliance.

▪️ He argued that Slovenia should pursue an independent policy and avoid involvement in external conflicts.

▪️ Stevanović also noted plans to visit Moscow, stating his position is not “pro-Russian” but focused on protecting Slovenia’s interests.

▪️ No final decision on holding the referendum has been made, and any actual withdrawal from NATO would be a lengthy process.

▪️ Earlier, Donald Trump also did not rule out the possibility of the United States leaving NATO.
