According to the Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the situation, U.S. President Donald J. Trump is considering resuming limited strikes inside Iran as a method to break the current impasse in the peace talks process with Iran. Per the report, a less likely scenario, that is also on the table, is resuming high tempo strikes on Iran as well. Should such measures be employed, they would be in addition to the blockade of maritime traffic from Iranian ports announced earlier by U.S. Central Command.

RT @Osint613: JUST IN 🔴

Iran’s parliament speaker responds to Trump’s naval blockade:

• “Americans must decide whether they are ready to earn Iran’s trust or not.”

• “Trump’s recent threats have no effect on the Iranian nation, we have proven it.”

• “We had very intensive, serious, and challenging talks… we presented strong initiatives that showed goodwill and led to progress.”

• “We do not trust the Americans… they must earn our trust, and that is difficult due to their past actions.”

• “The Iranian nation is advancing on its path and relies on its own capabilities.”

• “Our delegation was united, serious, and creative in defending Iran’s rights.”

• “These threats have no effect… this is not a slogan, the world has seen it.”

• “If America wants a way out, it must earn the trust of the Iranian nation.”

• “If you fight, we will fight, and if you come with logic, we will respond with logic.”

If strikes and a blockade of the blockade are the only options left, there are no more exit ramps, only rising costs.

President Trump and his advisers are looking at resuming limited military strikes in Iran in addition to the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as a way to break a stalemate in peace talks, according to officials and people familiar with the situation. https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/trump-weighs-limited-strikes-on-iran-after-talks-collapse-71908883?st=eskYn6

The blockade plan, if you can call it that, clearly wasn’t thought through.

@Mpolymer Uh. What are we going to do when a Chinese ship defies the blockade? Shoot at it? I think not.

U.S. Southern Command:

"Applying total systemic friction on the cartels.

On April 11, at the direction of SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted two lethal kinetic strikes on two vessels operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and were engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Two male narco-terrorists were killed, and one narco-terrorist survived the first strike. Three male narco-terrorists were killed during the second strike. Following the engagements, USSOUTHCOM immediately notified U.S. Coast Guard to activate the Search and Rescue system for the survivor. No U.S. military forces were harmed."

This is how regional wars become global ones.

For you all who think the US naval blockade will be successful just bc we have US Navy ships in the gulf …

Ask yourself this. Are we going to sink Chinese, Indian and Pakistani merchant ships defying the blockade or just write their names down and cry?

This will be unenforceable and speed up the collapse of the global economy.

This is Madness disguised as a policy.
