Lebanese political figures opposed to Hezbollah are calling on the Beirut government to open peace negotiations with Israel, according to the Lebanese newspaper Nidaa al-Watan.
The officials called for a small negotiating delegation free from sectarian constraints, a unilateral ceasefire declaration to Hezbollah with a short timeline for disarmament, and outreach to Arab states and the Vatican to build diplomatic support.
A Lebanese official told the paper the government is the only body authorized to negotiate with Israel and said Lebanon should "copy the Pakistani model", demand a limited ceasefire and begin talks immediately after it takes effect.
The paper also reports that negotiations between U.S., Israeli, and Lebanese ambassadors will begin Tuesday in Washington, with follow-up talks expected in Cyprus.

رصدت القوات المسلحة وتعاملت خلال الـ (24) ساعة الماضية مع عدد (7) طائراتٍ مسيّرةٍ معادية داخل المجال الجوي الكويتي، وتم التعامل معها وفق الإجراءات المعتمدة.
وقد نتج عن العدوان الإيراني الآثم استهداف عددٍ من المنشآت الحيوية تابعة للحرس الوطني، ما أسفر عن إصابة عددٍ من منتسبيه، وهم يتلقون العلاج حاليًا، وحالتهم مستقرة، بالإضافة إلى أضرارٍ مادية جسيمة.
