After speaking with Chair Powell this morning, it’s clear the administration’s investigation is nothing more than an attempt at coercion. If the Department of Justice believes an investigation into Chair Powell is warranted based on project cost overruns—which are not unusual—then Congress needs to investigate the Department of Justice. The stakes are too high to look the other way: if the Federal Reserve loses its independence, the stability of our markets and the broader economy will suffer. My colleague, Senator Tillis, is right in blocking any Federal Reserve nominees until this is resolved.

DHS’s Operation PARRIS allows people to be detained for a vague “status review,” before citizenship or legal status is confirmed. Detaining first and verifying later flips due process on its head and puts lawful residents and citizens at real risk of wrongful arrest.

DHS’s Operation PARRIS allows people to be detained for a vague “status review,” before citizenship or legal status is confirmed. Detaining first and verifying later flips due process on its head and puts lawful residents and citizens at real risk of wrongful arrest.
🚨BREAKING: DHS just publicly admitted what many have been warning about.
They are detaining people for a “status review.”
Read that again.
That means DHS is arresting human beings before verifying who they are, before confirming citizenship or legal status, and before establishing probable cause… then locking them in detention facilities while they “figure it out.”
That is not law enforcement.
That is not due process.
That is government-sanctioned human trafficking.
People are being seized, transported, and confined by the state without identity verification, based on suspicion alone. U.S. citizens have already been caught in this net. Lawful residents have already been caught in this net.
If the government can detain you first and ask questions later, constitutional rights become optional.
The question isn’t whether mistakes will happen.
They already are.
The question is how long Americans will accept a system where freedom depends on a bureaucrat deciding you deserve it after you’ve been locked up.
Detained for “status review” is not normal.
It is not legal.
And it should terrify everyone. - Jesus Freakin Congresstweet

DHS Sec Noem:
The men and women of the USCG are the best of the best in the world at what they do.
On January 9th in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Coast Guard found a 68-year-old man alive after being stranded for more than a day, and executed a heroic and flawless operation to rescue him by helicopter despite rough seas, rocky surroundings, and low visibility in the dead of night.
The men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard are diligent and dedicated, and America is blessed to have them keeping watch.
