Hearing from numerous contacts over on Sina Weibo that the warship involved in this collision was Type 071 amphibious transport vessel '龙虎山' (Longhu Shan).

Longhu Shan was commissioned in September of last year. Vessel will now likely require hefty repair work along front hull.

Also unconfirmed rumors that the situation was a bit more confrontational... PLA demanded the impacted freighter be taken to Xiamen for interrogation. Taiwanese coast guard vessels intervened; protecting the ship from seizure as it was towed back to Xiamen.
