1. What’s one lesson you’ve learned from being active in this community that you wish more people understood?
Stop chasing validation and start chasing respect. Real success comes from being able to validate yourself.

2. How do you balance sharing knowledge with staying humble?
Sometimes it's difficult for me to lol. I'm still learning. No matter how far ahead you are, someone else is grinding on something you haven’t touched yet.

3. What’s a topic you think deserves more attention or deeper discussion on the forum?
Execution. Ideas are cheap here, but finished work is rare. Shipping shit that people use says much more than threads ever will.

4. Has your perspective on the forum’s main theme evolved over time? If so, how?
Yes. Initially I chased short term gains through quick flips/freelancing. Now OGU just feels like a launchpad towards something greater and a place to test ideas and network.

5. What’s the most underrated skill in your field that people overlook?
Obsession. Most people spread themselves too thin, then wonder why they end up without anything long-lasting.

6. How do you handle disagreements or debates online without burning bridges?
When I was younger this was something I struggled with. Now, I try to keep it about the point, not the ego. If it turns into ego, I disengage. Not everything deserves your energy.

7. What motivates you to keep contributing on OGU?
For me, it’s having ideas so fucking golden and the ability to execute them. I’ve always been obsessed with this shit - if I don’t spend my time well, I literally can’t sleep. But you only get here by starting with failures; those give you the perspective and experience to finally build success. Don't wait for some golden opportunity, stop making excuses, and just get started.

8. If you could redesign one part of the forum experience, what would you change?
Honestly I wouldn't change much. Small shit, like enhancing paid features to reduce churn (like the renewal notifications for bumps/pins) could be beneficial. Overall, I think the current state of the forum is fine. At this point, I believe best to simply maintain the site.

9. What’s a resource (book, tool, mindset) that’s helped you level up recently?
Mark Builds Brands is lowkey my goat (https://www.youtube.com/@markbuildsbrands/videos). If you're ready to pull your head out of your ass and get some actual work done, his mindset content will give you the direct steps towards doing so. His stuff has provided me an incredible amount of value over the past 6 months.

10. What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your area of expertise?
Detach from outcomes. Starting a business on OGU (or anywhere for that matter)? You should first think 'What unique value do I provide my customers?' rather than 'How much money am I going to make?'. If you stop chasing shiny objects, and instead focus on value, the money will soon start chasing you.

11. Who’s your favorite onsite user that you met?
Probably @Jam. I would say @moral but he's too much of a freak (on the low). Shout out to @Zyger for inspiring pre-chatgpt era Jam to release his first project. I hope to inspire others the same way.

12. Looking back at your younger self, are you thankful for joining the forum?
1000%. It forced me to lock tf in early, and gave me an insane amount of experience I wouldn't have had otherwise.

13. Is there a member that you despise?
Anyone listed here https://oguser.com/reputation.php?uid=24005&show=negative&sort=dateline, and anyone who plays power games with their OGU title, which only ends up devaluing the very title they cling to.

🎤 @possess aka “ja” interview :

1. What first drew you to OGUsers, and how did your journey on the forum begin?

I moved on from other defunct forums. My journey started on a now dead forum, selling YouTube OGs, domains and Xbox gamertags. Small shoutout to my friend that helped me get a jump start on everything all them years ago, he unfortunately doesn't know how far I've come in the community since leaving it in 2014 to pursue being a cyber security journalist.

2. Was there a specific moment or deal that made you realize OGUsers could be more than just a hobby?
There wasn’t really a single moment. It was a good headstart to IRL businesses which has brought in more money than I ever imagined. That turned OGU from a daily grind to a fun hobby that I actually enjoy.

3. How do you define reputation on OGUsers—what matters more: vouches, tenure, or community impact?
All three combined. Having just one or two doesn’t cut it these days. There are well-known people with thousands of offsite vouches or years in the community who still scam, so none alone guarantees trust. Many of those users ended up being banned for shady practices onsite and offsite.

4. Have you ever had to rebuild your reputation after a setback? What did that process look like?
I basically start fresh on every new forum that comes along. OGUsers is the only one that’s stuck around long enough for me to build a solid reputation. Most others die out within 12 months, if they last that long.

5. What do you think separates high-value members from average ones on OGUsers?
Trustworthiness and morals, other than those we're all the same. Grinding to make magic internet money.
Nobody’s better than others and username value or how much money someone has doesn’t mean anything.

6. How do you spot red flags in new users or potential deals?

It boils down to spotting users who seem new but have knowledge only veterans of the community have. A lot of people mess up there.
Another is rushing deals, it’s annoying and raises many red flags. People can be excited about a new username or account but it’s obvious when someone’s trying to vouch farm, scam, commit fraud or set up a triangle scam. You can learn a lot from Deal Disputes and Community Alerts.

7. What tools or methods do you rely on to stay ahead in the marketplace?
I run autoclaimers & checkers for most social media platforms, manage a Telegram folder with almost every stock channel in the community to see new stock as it drops and over time I’ve built a "group" of people I go to for good usernames at cheap prices

8. How do you balance transparency with operational secrecy in your deals?
I never use real info. Only my domains or fresh Outlook emails, OTP SMS for numbers and randomly generated passwords with no reuse at any point.
When I do a deal, I’m upfront about what the buyer gets and provide every bit of info for the account or username then permanently delete it from my devices. If bans or locks happen, I take the hit and move on. I keep the process open and straightforward for the other side but never at the expense of my own security.

9. What’s one misconception people have about OGUsers that you’d like to correct?
That blackhat activity is allowed or tolerated when the forum team are working tirelessly to remove all blackhat content, stolen accounts, prevent scams, etc - most don't see that though.
Same with staff being paid off for things, it just doesn't happen and a lot of the time there's context missing when people spread rumours about staff being paid off.

10. Name underrated staff that don't get the recognition they deserve.
The entire forum team: Trusted, Mentors, Staff and Admins. I see a lot of complaints yet everyone on the team has their own things going on IRL or online. We’re not robots but often get treated like we are.

11. Do you see yourself as a humble person?
I try to be humble but others might disagree. For about five years, I wasn’t at all. I flexed money, usernames and more but eventually realized it’s just pixels on a screen.

Any website, app, game, etc could shutdown today making those usernames/accounts worthless. Same with crypto, you could mess up once and lose it all.

🎤 @xides aka “Xavier” interview
1. What’s your main focus as a staff member on OGUSER?

Main focus is DDs and tickets, those are usually where people have finance involved which OGU takes very seriously.

Anything we think is below this we try to get once these tasks are completed / get the mentors to assist us with

2. How do you keep the community safe and fair?

Keeping the community fair in peoples eyes can come at a view point of bias in another’s eyes

We take every dd and discuss between Members who are Trusted aswell as mentors who may have expertise in the section of which the dd may originate

Ultimately we can’t get every dd nailed on 100% of the time but we try our best to get close to this which is why some DDs may go on for days, we analyse all proof etc and discuss as a forum team what our opinions on it and make a decision

3. What’s one challenge you’ve faced moderating the site?

One challenge I’ve faced would most likely be the back lash of a dd not going someone’s way or an account recovery of an account not going through

These people will usually dm you on telegram spamming and harassing but you get used to it.

We do it for the love of the forum, we do not get paid in any way and would do it all over again if we could

4. You’ve mentioned being into electronic music, what draws you to it?

When I was younger my brother used to watch Top 40 hits on MTV back in the day, there was always one song on the list which was Adaigo for strings by Tiesto

Every since then it’s more so poured over to rap / modern house with the likes of Drake Carti etc

5. Any artists you’re listening to on repeat right now?

2hollis Kettama Carti Star boy

6. Do you think music influences how you approach your work or life?

Put it this way it’s better to be listening to some good ass music when you hop into your car to start your day rather than some dull choir music

Even if it’s a small bit, it’s still an improvement

7. What countries have you visited so far?

I’ve completed most of Europe and parts of Asia, if I was to put a number id say close to 40

8. Is there a place you’re really hoping to explore next?

Australia and NZ is planned so should be soon 👀

9. Do you think travel changes how you see online communities?

I think it puts into words how small our community is when you go to these huge cities like New York London Dubai

Even though we’re a small population we have a pretty big impact on the Social media and Crypto sphere so I suppose it has changed my perspective

10. Where do you see OGUSER heading in the next few years?

Unsure at the moment, OGU seems like it’s at a standstill at the moment, I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s fully dead / dying more so the com is evolving towards different platforms

The jump from discord to Telegram was huge, it’s a huge hub for members of our community and I think further expansion into telegram would be the way to go

11. What keeps you motivated to stay part of the staff team?

If my heart wasn’t in it I wouldn’t be here in the position, the com has treated me nicely both financially and through connections

Even the little things in now I appreciate which the com has given me such as people I play on Xbox to chill with that I’ve met from com

Extra!
This question is related to Xavier's Telegram username that he sold.

I will admit I have sold the username and have indeed been eyeing up the 4L usernames.

Which one I’ll be going for I’m still looking, the way Ton is looking I could see it go lower and hopefully get one for a nice price

As much as I loved Xavier I was offered an amount I was comfortable with and always had my favourite alias to fall back on
