Aspirants FAIL even after learning all tricks tukkebazi etc.
WHY? Because they are not aware about 2 principles and it turns out to be a gamble for them. Those 2 Principles are:
FIRST PRINCIPLE
"Hierarchy Test to assume correct statements"
1. Knowledge
2. Atma ki Awaaz
3. Logic
4. Limitations in MCQ process
5. Your personal Observations
SECOND PRINCIPLE
"Confirmation Test"
Accuracy Rate reduces from 1st to 5th in this priority list. Knowledge is most accurate, atma is less accurate, logic is even less accurate and so on, with observations being least accurate.
Now, since it is a game of prediction and probability of prediction gets MAXIMUM ONLY WHEN you use the most accurate tool. If you are using 1st or 2nd then they are sufficient in themselves. But if you are using the 5th then more than 2-3 tools(keys) will be required to predict a move which will be accurate(due to its poor accuracy rate).
In a nutshell, "If you see a good setup, wait for the confirmation ".

I remember during my JEE days, for physics, students used to run behind Irodov, HC Verma, dc pandey falana dhimkana....
Why? They were just bothered about more and more questions. And they never cared about theory and concepts.
Similarly aspirants of UPSC, are running behind Tricks, Tukka, pyq discussions etc and not behind the GENUINE REASONS OR CONCEPTS OR THEORY behind all these, which can once and all settle all the dust in one go.
JEE time bhi log pele jate the,
UPSC time bhi pele jate hain
Bas umar badli hai, fitrat nhi π

You know that it is a reality. It is bound to happen. Cyclone will come if you live in Orissa. You can escape.
What you can do is,PREPARE FOR DISASTER MANAGEMENT . That is, you try to control the things which you can control.
Similarly, Prelims is bound to be uncomfortable, dicey and unpredictable. What you can do is, use

LAYERING APPROACH
First complete LAYER 1 OF ALL the subjects. Then layer 2 of all, then layer 3 of all and so on.
Don't do this, you are done with 6th layer of economy and don't even know layer 1 of AMAC. Pta chala economy ke toh 15 ke 15 kardiye lekin fir arghatta, dancing girl ye sab galat kardiye .
If you want 2-3 subjects to be master of, then go up to layer 5 in those, but only after completing at least layer 1 of all other subjects.
Always remember, you have to get all the CUT OFF DECIDING QUESTIONS right. No matter what.

Differential Learning > Active Recall > Revision > Highlighting > Re-reading
FOR MAINS: Active recall reduces your efforts to be given for answer writing practice.
FOR PRELIMS: Differential learning reduces your mistakes and increases your accuracy.
Active recall is for mains, Differential learning is for prelims!!!

I observe the mushrooming of people who are guiding for prelims by showing that they got 100+, 120+ in prelims back to back. Nice this is good. This proves that, they are well versed with preliminary exam. But do you want to clear ONLY Prelims? Or do youβ¦

FLTs are meant to learn Time management and Temperament management. You should never see your marks in FLTs .
If at all you want to judge your hold over a Static subject, then attempt PART TEST of that subject and check your score. It should be >80% in that.
