Ab 2 kaam karne hai. Identify
1. Areas which you YOURSELF think, you should have done as per PYQs Syllabus but didn't do. Areas you are not confident of, but are relevant for mains.
2. Areas which MARKSHEET itself is suggesting to improve. Example, if you got 80 in an essay, it simply means there is a very high probability of mis-interpretation of essay topic. If you got 80 in GS1 simply means demand of question was missed etc etc.

First and foremost thing one can do post release of scorecards is
1. Reflect on your actual scores VS what you believed should have been ( say gs 4 paper ke Baad you were feeling paper went really good. If marking is like last year you would cross 115 ab dekho kitna aaya)
2. Seocnd is actual scores vs your efforts in that paper (there can be a case where someone doesn't put in much efforts in GS3, goes only with security and agri ke bharose. Phir 84 mila to ye commensurate score hai..)
3. Compare your scores with other peer scorecards. It's a relative exam, you'll be awarded marks against other copies.

A student scored 75 in 2025
He got following questions wrong, IBRD, 5th schedule, governor, dpsp, rbi, NCM, arghata, pradeshika, cop28, CO2 emissions, rainforest, heat absorption, continent drift etc etc
12+ questions means 16+ net questions means 32+ marks means he was getting 107 marks if he got these NON NEGOTIABLES DONE.
Now, he was asking me prelims, kaise nikalta hai, btao kya karun, current affairs kahan se karna hai βΊοΈβΊοΈ

The fundamental error that everyone does in mains is time management error.
People don't even know, where to utilise the time they have at their disposal
Imagine reading 1200+ pages for GS-3 and ending up getting 65 in it

I observe the mushrooming of people who are guiding for prelims by showing that they got 100+, 120+ in prelims back to back.
Nice this is good. This proves that, they are well versed with preliminary exam. But do you want to clear ONLY Prelims? Or do you want to clear it in totality?
Person who is clearing only Prelims and never mains, will never tell you "what is optimised way to pass Prelims". Very high probability that person will guide you to "8 MONTHS PRELIMS SCHEME"
Why? Why is it so? Because he never understood the game of balancing Prelims and Mains. Person will never be able to guide how to prepare in such a way that NOT ONLY benefits you in prelims, BUT ALSO in mains and that too in an optimised way. Why? Perhaps because they themselves are not aware of how to do this.
I understand, those who have failed prelims for 3-4 times, are in "DESPERATION" of clearing it at any cost. But, the reality is NOBODY CARES if,you don't score 800+ in Mains in current scenario .
I hope you get it

Aspirants FAIL even after learning all tricks tukkebazi etc.
WHY? Because they are not aware about 2 principles and it turns out to be a gamble for them. Those 2 Principles are:
FIRST PRINCIPLE
"Hierarchy Test to assume correct statements"
1. Knowledge
2. Atma ki Awaaz
3. Logic
4. Limitations in MCQ process
5. Your personal Observations
SECOND PRINCIPLE
"Confirmation Test"
Accuracy Rate reduces from 1st to 5th in this priority list. Knowledge is most accurate, atma is less accurate, logic is even less accurate and so on, with observations being least accurate.
Now, since it is a game of prediction and probability of prediction gets MAXIMUM ONLY WHEN you use the most accurate tool. If you are using 1st or 2nd then they are sufficient in themselves. But if you are using the 5th then more than 2-3 tools(keys) will be required to predict a move which will be accurate(due to its poor accuracy rate).
In a nutshell, "If you see a good setup, wait for the confirmation ".
