WHEN TO SHIFT TO PRELIMS? 3 Cases are possible. Case 1. Almost beginner, only read basic books like laxmikant once twice. Shift IMMEDIATELY!! Case 2. Average with static, remember 40% of basic books, shift from MID JANUARY. Case 3. Good with Static, remember…
What this person is doing, only this and only this work can be done between prelims and mains.
That is, "work of puttee पुट्टी"
If you think you can "build the walls" using brick, soil and cement then you are mistaken. Even "work of plaster" cannot be done at that time
Only work that can be done is, putte, paint and aesthetics. Period.
In other words, REVISION, INTERLINKAGES AND PLACEMENT on the copy can be done and not building the content and PYQs
Good Luck.

Let me give you mantra i used to follow during JEE days.
Meant for Prelims People.
REVISIT THE SCENE OF CRIME.
Observe what went wrong and why?
1. Why you couldn't answer your known stuff.
2. What could have been prepared which was not earlier.
3. What can't be done and should be left to be studied.
Good Luck
