China's central bank injected cash into the banking system on Monday, as it formally shifted its main policy rate to an overnight lending rate, a move analysts said ​would ease funding conditions and support the economy.

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) injected 541 billion ‌yuan ($81.3 billion) through overnight reverse repurchase agreements at 1.25%, according to a statement.

1. Federal Reserve Rate Expectations

2. US Midterm Elections and Geopolitical Uncertainty
Investors are closely monitoring the US midterm elections on November 3. Political uncertainty, concerns over government debt and geopolitical developments could increase market volatility and strengthen demand for safe-haven assets.

Any escalation in geopolitical tensions could provide additional support for gold.

3. From a technical perspective, gold is experiencing a retracement on the H1 timeframe; key supply zones—specifically 3972 and 3998—are expected to keep the price on a downward trajectory.
