The Fed's October 27–28 meeting is the main event for gold traders. Markets broadly expect rates to remain unchanged, but investors are watching for signals about a possible rate increase in December.

A more hawkish Fed could strengthen the US dollar and Treasury yields, putting renewed pressure on gold. A less hawkish tone could support a recovery

2.Oil prices and inflation expectations
Oil prices retreated on October 26 after recently surging amid geopolitical tensions. Lower oil prices may ease inflation fears and reduce pressure for tighter monetary policy, which could benefit gold.

However, renewed supply disruptions could push energy prices higher again, revive inflation concerns and weigh on bullion through expectations of higher interest rates.

3. From a technical perspective, the market is essentially awaiting the Fed’s interest rate decision to determine its next major direction; for now, it is primarily consolidating around the 4000 level.
