The initial market reaction to signs of moderating US inflation fades quickly as investors remain worried that higher energy prices will rekindle inflationary pressures. This underpins prospects for at least one interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve(Fed) in 2026, which, in turn, is seen as a key factor driving flows away from the non-yielding bullion.
