In order to have taste, it is not enough to see and to know what is beautiful in a given work. One must feel beauty and be moved by it.
You should ignore misleading evidence. But if you know that p, you know that evidence against p is misleading. So if you know that p, you should ignore evidence against p. But that’s dogmatic. (Kripke’s Dogmatism Paradox)

According to the Curry-Howard correspondence, programs are isomorphic to mathematical proofs
Therefore I am isomorphic to a good mathematician

The only jobs that AI will be able to do, but won't ever get automated, are those of a politician, a priest, and a prostitute.

It is practically impossible to teach good programming to students that have had a prior exposure to BASIC: as potential programmers they are mentally mutilated beyond hope of regeneration.

Um.. I don't know how to feel about this one. My first language was BASIC (or QBASIC, I don't remember honestly) since that's what they used to teach in school back in my days. I don't think I took anything of significance from it other than finding the discipline of computer science cool

Edit: found this in an 8-year old lobster discussion of this article 🤣
I don't know how many of you have ever met Dijkstra, but you probably know that arrogance in computer science is measured in nano-Dijkstras.
