Um.. I don't know how to feel about this one. My first language was BASIC (or QBASIC, I don't remember honestly) since that's what they used to teach in school back in my days. I don't think I took anything of significance from it other than finding the discipline of computer science cool

It is practically impossible to teach good programming to students that have had a prior exposure to BASIC: as potential programmers they are mentally mutilated beyond hope of regeneration.
