In a famous story, a man once spat on the Buddha in anger. The Buddha simply smiled. When the man returned the next day to beg for forgiveness, the Buddha said:

"I cannot forgive you."

The man was shocked, but the Buddha explained:

"To forgive, I must first be angry. Since I was never angry, there is nothing to forgive. Furthermore, the man who spat yesterday is not here today (he has changed), and the man who was spat upon is not here either."

It's not going well in the world of polymaths, von Neumann is dead, Archimedes is dead, Euler is dead and I myself am not feeling that well either.

At some point, I have grown really tired of listening to what people say they believe, it's better to just observe how they conduct themselves in real life.

Maybe that’s why I’ve started caring less about people altogether and more about ideas. People are imperfect and will certainly, always disappoint. Which is fine, that's how life goes. Ideas on the other hand, at best can be eye-opening or mind blowing, and at worst can at least still be interesting.
