Russia is preparing to send about 9.5 million barrels of crude oil to India to help manage potential fuel supply disruptions amid rising Middle East tensions.

Several tankers carrying Russian crude are already near Indian waters and could reach refineries within weeks. The move comes as instability around the Strait of Hormuz threatens global oil flows, a key route through which around 40% of India’s crude imports pass.
