China on Thursday hiked its defence budget by a little over 10 per cent to USD 275 billion, about USD 25 billion more than last year as it ramped the modernisation of armed forces to catch up with the US military.
     Roughly 1.9 trillion yuan (about USD 275 billion) will be allocated to national defence, Chinese Premier Li Qiang announced in his work report presented to the National People’s Congress (NPC) on Thursday.

Security sources told Voice of Hindukush that Afghan forces carried out airstrikes targeting the Pakistani regime’s Frontier Corps (FC) general headquarters, Ghaza Band, in the Kachlagh and Quetta areas of Balochistan province.

The targeted headquarters is considered the largest command and operational center for the Pakistani regime’s FC troops in Balochistan.

Sources confirmed that intermittent explosions are still being heard in the area.

The airstrikes were launched in response to last night’s attacks in Kandahar. Security sources cautioned that any further aggression by the regime would be met with swift and decisive retaliation.
