India’s defence modernisation gets a boost as the Indian Army plans to place orders for 300 indigenous Dhanush 155mm howitzers. The guns are expected to equip 15 artillery regiments, significantly strengthening long-range firepower and promoting self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

He was arrested in August 2024 and has pleaded not guilty to terrorism and murder-for-hire charges. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment in the US.

China on Thursday hiked its defence budget by a little over 10 per cent to USD 275 billion, about USD 25 billion more than last year as it ramped the modernisation of armed forces to catch up with the US military.
