MEA Statement On Alleged Protests in front of the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi

๐Ÿ“Œ We have noted misleading propaganda in sections of the Bangladesh media on the incident.

๐Ÿ“Œ The fact is that about 20-25 youth gathered in front of the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi on 20 December and raised slogans in protest against the horrendous killing of Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh, while also calling for the protection of all minorities in Bangladesh.

๐Ÿ“Œ There was no attempt to breach the fence or create a security situation at any time. The police stationed at the spot dispersed the group after a few minutes.

๐Ÿ“Œ Visual evidence of these events is available publicly for all to see. India is committed to ensure the safety of foreign Missions/Posts in its territory in accordance with the Vienna Convention.

๐Ÿ“Œ India continues to keep a close watch on the evolving situation in Bangladesh.

๐Ÿ“Œ Our officials remain in touch with Bangladesh authorities and have conveyed to them our strong concerns at the attacks on minorities.

๐Ÿ“Œ We have also urged that the perpetrators of the barbaric killing of Das be brought to justice.

China Files WTO Complaint Against India Over Tech Tariffs and Solar Subsidies

China has taken India to the World Trade Organization (WTO), arguing that Indiaโ€™s tariffs on tech products and subsidies for solar manufacturing break global trade rules.

India sees these steps as protective measures to build domestic capacity and reduce dependence on Chinese imports.

The bigger picture is strategic, not just legal. Beijing is using the WTO to push back against Indiaโ€™s industrial policy, especially in sectors where China has long enjoyed dominance (electronics, EVs, solar).

By challenging India repeatedly-first EVs, now tech and solar-China is signaling that it will contest any move that threatens its market control.

This is economic competition turning into legal warfare, with trade rules becoming a tool in a broader geopolitical and supply-chain rivalry between India and China.
