The death toll from flooding and landslides on the Indonesian island of Sumatra has risen sharply to 442, with up to 409 people missing, officials say.

Evacuation operations are continuing on the island, with major roads blocked and internet and electricity only partially restored.In Tapanuli, the worst-hit neighbourhood, residents reportedly looted shops in search of food. Residents are demanding that the country's authorities declare Sumatra a national disaster zone to ensure faster and more co-ordinated action by rescue services.

IAF Clears Major BrahMos-NG Boost: 400 Missiles Approved | ₹8,000 Cr Deal

The Indian Air Force has approved the procurement of 400 BrahMos-NG supersonic cruise missiles in a deal valued at ₹8,000 crore (≈ $960 million).

— The BrahMos-NG, a lighter and stealth-optimized next-generation variant, features a 1.5-tonne airframe, Mach 3.5 speed, and a 290+ km strike range. It is designed for seamless integration across multiple platforms, including Su-30MKI, Tejas, as well as naval ships and submarines, and the upcoming AMCA.

The missile’s first test flight is scheduled for 2026, with large-scale production expected to begin soon after, significantly enhancing India’s precision strike capabilities.

📌 Rajasthan CID Intelligence arrested Prakash Singh alias Badal, a resident of Firozpur, Punjab, for spying for Pakistan’s ISI.

📌 He sent confidential Army-related information from Rajasthan, Punjab, and Gujarat to ISI handlers.

📌 Surveillance revealed he was in contact with ISI operatives through social media after which he was detained.

📌 Information shared included details about Army vehicles, military sites, border geography, bridges, roads, railway lines, and new constructions.

📌 He also provided OTPs to ISI for WhatsApp and other messaging apps. Interrogation at the Joint Interrogation Centre revealed he had links with ISI since Operation Sindoor.
