Massive search ops in Basantgarh after terrorists appear at Bakerwal’s house


Security forces have launched massive joint search and cordon operation in different areas in the upper reaches of Basantgarh after three suspected Terrorists reportedly appeared in a house and sought food.

Forested areas in the surroundings, leading to Kathua on one side and Doda on the other, are also been searched.

There have been reports about presence of the terrorists in upper reaches of Basantgarh in Udhampur district, but they keep on shifting their hideouts to Doda or Kathua following pressure maintained by security forces.

1. High Court ruled that J&K areas under Paxtan’s control are still Indian territory, so cross-LoC trade is intra-state supply under GST.

2. Traders doing barter trade received Section 74 GST notices for alleged suppression of facts in 2017 to 18 and 2018 to 19.

3. Court said combined notices are valid and that valuation/tax issues in barter with areas under Paxtan must be decided by GST authorities.

4. Petitions were dismissed as premature, but the Court made it clear that supplies sent to regions controlled by Paxtan remain intra-state for GST.
