As I am listening to the impeachment managers make the case for being able to bring the case before the senate for trial I am infuriated by the obvious duplicity of justice that their statements represent.
And then it dawned on me: Trump’s attorneys knew all of the same precedents for trying a former official....
They knew what the course of the trial would take...
Why would they attempt to use a defense that obviously would be refuted, denied. The trial will certainly take place. Why would they do this?
As I listened it occurred to me that the Democrats are making a case for holding a President or any government official “accountable” even after they have left office.
How will they act when they are the ones on trial for their crimes committed while in office?
