🇵🇸 Israa Al-Ja'abees, a mother of several children, was one day buying household items in a city when occupying soldiers opened fire on her, causing her car to catch fire. The soldiers left Israa burning without offering assistance or allowing anyone to rescue her. However, they later arrested her after she sustained burns covering 50% of her body. She is supposed to be among the #Palestinian hostages to be released in the first batch of the exchange deal between the #Palestinian resistance and the occupation state. (via @QudsNen)

Reminder : Israa Jaabis: From victim to criminal, overnight – Middle East Monitor - 2021
An Israeli court sentenced a severely burnt Palestinian mother to eleven years in prison for literally doing nothing in 2017. Only in Israel can one be incarcerated with no charges of criminality and be sentenced to sustain wounds forever, till death.

Shorouq Dwaiat, arrested on October 7, 2016, at the age of 16, experienced a horrifying attack near Al-Aqsa Mosque as she headed home. An #Israeli settler attempted to forcibly remove her hijab and shot her. Bleeding on the street for half an hour, Shorouq was then arrested by Israeli soldiers. Now, seven years later, she faces an 18-year sentence and an 80,000 shekel fine on accusations of stabbing. She is supposed to be among the #Palestinian hostages to be released in the first batch of the exchange deal between the #Palestinian resistance and the occupation state.

🇵🇸 Disabled Palestinians in Gaza face heightened threat during war

Nowhere in Gaza is safe and everyone living there is bearing the brunt of Israel’s war – from bombs and destruction to the shortage of basic goods.

But for Palestinians with #disabilities, the dangers and difficulties are even more extreme.

🇵🇸 Israel and its allies are repurposing the goals and lies of 1948 – in Gaza in 2023 – Jonathan Cook

Israel is openly carrying out ethnic cleansing inside Gaza, driving Palestinians outside their homeland as happened in 1948. And yet, just as during the first “#Nakba”, Israel's lies and deceptions dominate the West’s media and political narrative.

So Israel is taking advantage of this moment to “finish the job”. The final destination is clearly in view, as, in truth, it has been for more than seven decades. The crime is unfolding step by step, the pace quickening. And yet senior politicians and journalists in the West – like their predecessors – continue to be blind to it all.

🇵🇸 Anxious, optimistic: Families of female Palestinian prisoners await release | Al Jazeera

At her home in the occupied East Jerusalem town of Sur Baher, Sameera Dwayyat is gripped with anxiety and apprehension.

The name of her daughter, Shorouq, who is currently serving the longest sentence of all the female Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, is on the list of prisoners due for release over the next few days in exchange for 50 Israeli captives held in Gaza by Hamas.

She was just 18 years old when Israeli forces arrested her as she was walking home on October 7, 2015 after they shot her four times, leaving her in critical condition.

Latest Evidence Points to a Magnetic Disaster
“Hamas is a creature of Israel.”

"Hamas’ origins were distinctly non-violent. Its parent organization, al-Mujamma al-Islamiyya, was founded in 1973 by Yassin as an Islamic charity linked to the Palestinian branch of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood. The group had long adopted an apolitical stance, and even after the 1967 Six-Day War, when Israel annexed and occupied the Palestinian territories, or the 1973 Yom Kippur War, the Brotherhood categorically refused to participate in the armed struggle against Israel. Accordingly, al-Mujamma focused on providing social, religious, and educational services and welfare to Palestinians in Gaza. This stance was at odds with other secular Palestinian groups at the time, which were actively engaged in violent resistance against Israel’s occupation at home or terrorist attacks abroad, such as the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre. In contrast, al-Mujamma’s pacifist outlook led to Israel recognizing it as a charity in 1979, allowing it to operate freely and financing and supporting its development of a network of Islamist social institutions throughout Gaza."
