❗️Israel coordinated most recent Lebanon strikes with US

Israel’s state broadcaster Kan reported that recent Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon were carried out “in coordination with the Americans,” who have been stationed at Israel’s Northern Command base since the ceasefire took effect last November.

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam had tasked the army in August with restricting weapons to the state by year’s end, a move Hezbollah condemned as something that would weaken Lebanon against Israeli aggression.

Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun denounced Thursday’s Israeli airstrikes on southern towns as a “full-fledged crime” under international humanitarian law, accusing Israel of deliberately targeting civilians and undermining peace efforts. He said Tel Aviv “intensifies its aggression every time Lebanon shows openness to negotiation,” flouting UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and rejecting any pathway toward a political settlement.

The Lebanese Army also condemned the attacks as part of Israel’s “destructive approach” aimed at destabilizing Lebanon and obstructing full army deployment under the ceasefire terms, while reaffirming its coordination with UNIFIL forces.

Nearly a year after the November 2024 ceasefire, Israel continues to violate the agreement, maintaining troops at multiple sites inside Lebanon and conducting repeated assaults that authorities say endanger the country’s stability.
