Another crazy busy day. We had to have all of our checked luggage delivered to the ALE Warehouse where it will be preloaded on the airplane.

All tripods, clothing etc has been loaded. We can bring two pieces of carryons which must include everything we will need to film from the plane as well as our polar gear we will change into as we are landing.

We have a flight time of 10am tomorrow and we must be at the airport at 8am. We also have to be ready for a phone call tonight because the flight could be moved two hours prior to 8am meaning we will need to be at the airport at 6am or it could be moved to anytime the rest of the day into the next few days if weather does not look good. As of now, we are go for the 10am flight.

We found out today that there is literally one other person on the flight with us. Some guy who we saw at orientation who I was told booked a solo trip. So we will have an entire 757 to ourselves. A 757 jet seats 200 commercially and 75 in luxury which is what this plane is set for. So there will be only 10 of us on the entire 757.

Sad part is that means we can bring unlimited checked luggage but that doesn’t help us since we all had to pack to be within the 50lb limit. But now we can have as many 50lb bags as we want. Bummer. I wanted to bring the drone and a few other things but I wasn’t able to make weight.

Luckily Jonathan has a drone and got permission today to go 1 mile high which DJI had to unlock for him allowing the drone to bypass the normal limits placed on it. And he says he will let me do a flight of my own so at least I will get drone footage from a mile high.

Tomorrow we will be quite fantastic and I can’t say I have looked forward to a day this much in as long as I can recall. Crossing the ocean and seeing the ice wall will be epic. Continuing south into the ice plains as far as the eye can see will be impressive. We will all be quite busy with infrared, go pros, sun observations and the like. Not to mention Timelapse video of the flight and we even hope to be allowed to film from the cockpit. Depends if the pilot is a jerk or not I guess.

Also, we will be watching the sun to see if it follows us as we head south. I will begin my chest cam footage tomorrow morning and throughout the flight up until we are on the ice and from there I will get into a 15 min every hour schedule if recording the chest cam. If you are interested in getting the footage for a very inexpensive price you just need to be a VIP as they will get the link on the 21st.

Not trying to turn this to a sales pitch but that’s how you can watch the chest cam footage. Everything else will take a little time to get up.
