ESET researchers have discovered an active espionage campaign targeting Android users with apps primarily posing as messaging services. While these apps offer functional services as bait, they are bundled with open-source XploitSPY malware. We have named this campaign eXotic Visit and have tracked its activities from November 2021 through to the end of 2023. The targeted campaign has been distributing malicious Android apps through dedicated websites and, for some time, through the Google Play store as well.

Has anyone heard of LunarDAO? I don't usually discuss alt cryptos here but this one caught my attention. Its main focus is to invest into privacy projects, it seems to be connected with the folks from DarkFi. It is directed by a group of 6 anonymous stewards. An excerpt from their manifesto:
Information is power. Privacy and transparency are two antithetical dimensions of information. Transparency must apply to those in power, to lay open their machinations and hold them accountable. This includes any government, supranational entity, corporations and conglomerates. Privacy is for the people, to prevent the agents of power from intruding in the innermost parts of our individual and social existence.
The mouthpieces of the surveillance state claim that our sanctuaries and agoras are enabling criminals to sell drugs, weapons and human beings, and laundering money through cryptocurrencies. They use this as an excuse to block our access to DeFi and privacy tools and limit our autonomy. All the while the crimes we stand accused of are carried out day by day on a massive scale by well-connected and legally protected people, aided by national governments, their courts and law enforcement bodies. While attacking tools that empower people, they commandeer the black market and launder money through esteemed international banks.

There are some fun mechanisms in their governance processes such as the ability for voters to ragequit and immediately leave with their funds if there is a proposal they strongly disagree with.

13,000 Palestinians reportedly missing in the Gaza Strip
Palestinian Territory - Urgent international action is needed to set up special mechanisms and specialised teams to remove debris from homes and buildings that Israel’s army has bombed, rescue those trapped alive under the rubble, and retrieve the thousands of dead bodies stuck under it since the genocide began on 7 October 2023.
Decisive international pressure on Israel is necessary to facilitate the labour of the individuals and crews working to remove this rubble, including civil defense crews. Pressure must also be put on Israel to release information on the fate of the thousands of Palestinian prisoners and detainees from the Gaza Strip who are being held by Israeli army forces, plus those who have been victims of murder, unlawful execution, and enforced disappearance in Israeli prisons and detention centres.

🚨 The French FREMM frigate "Alsace" has abandoned the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, according to French sources.
The commander of the ship stated that the Yemeni Armed Forces "do not hesitate to use drones and ballistic missiles in a very surprising and striking manner."
He added, "It has been a long time since we dealt with this level of weapons and violence. The Houthis are perfecting their technique. The more they fire, the more accurate they become."
The Commander told Le Figaro: "All combat equipment was used on board the frigate, from the Aster missile to machine guns," noting that the cost of each Aster is $2 million.
FREMM is the one of a number of European military ships that have recently withdraw from the area, following the withdrawal of the HDMS Danish Esbern Snare this week and the British destroyer HMS Richmond before it.
