🇵🇸 Israel bombs Gaza’s only operating wheat mill, intensifying its war of starvation against Palestinian civilians

Euro-Med Monitor strongly condemned the Israeli army’s artillery shelling of the Al-Salam Mill in Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza—the Strip’s only operating wheat mill—forcing it to shut down. Israel’s targeting of the mill came as part of its attempt to deepen the food crisis for Palestinian civilians following its bombing of dozens of bakeries, most of them in Gaza City and the Strip’s northern regions.

Due to structural damage, lack of fuel, water, and wheat flour, bakeries have not been operating in Gaza City or the Strip’s northern areas for more than a week now. Wheat flour is no longer available in any local markets.

As several major water tanks have been destroyed, Euro-Med Monitor considers the Israeli air and artillery attacks to be attacks on Palestinian civilians, especially children, who are in desperate need of water.

🦅 Well, what a descent into the gutter. Only a few months ago, U.S. President Joe Biden was given a rapturous welcome when he visited the Irish town of Ballina. It is from here that his ancestors emigrated to the United States in the mid-19th century.

At the weekend, the town held a protest to condemn the genocide in Gaza and denounced the American president for his administration’s disgraceful support to Israel. Biden was roundly vilified as Genocide Joe ☠️

It was a relatively small gathering in Ballina of a couple of hundred people. But there have been several protests all over Ireland in recent weeks as well as in the major cities of Belfast and Dublin. The Irish demonstrations are part of a worldwide tide of protests against the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the Western governments’ support that enables it.

Biden has been labelled “Genocide Joe” by protesters in the United States and around the world who are incensed by Washington’s complicity in Israel’s mass killing of Palestinians over the past five weeks.

Since the 7th of October, 25 Palestinian journalists and 13 workers for media agencies have been killed by Israeli bombardment. Over the same period there have been direct attacks on the homes of 35 journalists, killing dozens of their family members. At least 20 of the 25 journalists killed were intentionally targeted by strikes on their homes or during their work covering Israel’s attacks.
