Today we’re announcing Private Access Tokens, a completely invisible, private way to validate that real users are visiting your site. Visitors using operating systems that support these tokens, including the upcoming versions of macOS or iOS, can now prove they’re human without completing a CAPTCHA or giving up personal data. This will eliminate nearly 100% of CAPTCHAs served to these users.
Over the past year, Cloudflare has collaborated with Apple, Google, and other industry leaders to extend the Privacy Pass protocol with support for a new cryptographic token. These tokens simplify application security for developers and security teams, and obsolete legacy, third-party SDK based approaches to determining if a human is using a device. They work for browsers, APIs called by browsers, and APIs called within apps. We call these new tokens Private Access Tokens (PATs). This morning, Apple announced that PATs will be incorporated into iOS 16, iPad 16, and macOS 13, and we expect additional vendors to announce support in the near future.

🚨BREAKING: U.S. Finally Drops SARS-CoV-2 Testing Requirement for International Travelers
🇺🇸@COVID19Up: The Biden administration is finally dropping its SARS-CoV-2 testing requirement for inbound air travelers from abroad on Sunday (June 12), ending one of the longest-running travel restrictions of the pandemic.
The rule, put in place by the Trump administration in early 2021 and later tightened by the Biden administration, most recently required inbound travelers, including U.S. citizens, to show proof of a negative SARS-CoV-2 test a day before boarding U.S.-bound flights. Travelers entering the U.S. at land border crossings were exempt.
Many other countries, including the U.K., had previously abandoned SARS-CoV-2 testing entry rules.
The change takes effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on Sunday. The CDC will reassess the decision in 90 days.

Dear fellow citizens,
This week, negotiations between the three EU institutions concluded with a deal on the ten-year-old Directive on Gender balance among non-executive directors of stock exchange-listed companies.
The result is that companies listed on the stock exchanges of the member states are now obliged to hire women - even if they have male candidates who would have been better suited and qualified. From now on, 40% of non-executive boards and 33% of executive boards must be made up of women by 2026.
This directive is an extremely hollow victory in the fight for better women's rights. What signal does it actually send to those new quota women on corporate boards? Quite simply, "You're not here because you're well-qualified and capable, but only because a law has forcibly placed you here." What humiliation I would feel as a woman in such a company if all my professional "successes" had only been achieved because of quotas, laws and state-imposed guard rails.
I therefore say quite clearly: "Competence instead of quotas!" Only those things which one has worked and fought for on his own can ultimately fill a person with the justifiable pride in his own achievements. It is only this own achievement that awakens and increases genuine self-confidence and furthermore enables a healthy development into a free and self-determined individual. And this fact applies equally to both women and men. Even without a quota.

Former US President Barack Obama made a fresh push for online censorship during an appearance at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit by calling for crackdowns on content that he deems to be “disinformation,” “hate,” or a “conspiracy theory.”
Before Obama took the stage, 2022 Obama Foundation Leader Sarah-Josephine Hjorth hinted at what was to come by railing against “fake news and misinformation.”
“While the increase in use of smartphones and social media first came with the whisper of renewed democratic participation, fake news and misinformation dominate the digital landscape and result in an erosion of the fabric of truth and polarization,” Hjorth said.
Shortly after taking the stage, Obama continued this theme by invoking the January 6 Capitol riot and tying it to “misinformation and conspiracy theories.”
“In my own country, the forces that unleashed mob violence on our Capitol are still churning out misinformation and conspiracy theories,” Obama said.
Towards the end of his speech, Obama made a more direct call for censorship of content that’s branded as a conspiracy theory, disinformation, or hate.
“We have to take steps to detoxify our discourse,” the former President said. “Particularly the scourge of disinformation and conspiracy theories and hate online that has polluted our political discourse.”

Russian diplomats called out the news agency Reuters on Friday (June 10) for not noticing that a Ukrainian man they identified only as a “local resident” in the city of Kharkov had an elaborate Nazi tattoo on his arm.
“We’ve fixed your oopsie, Reuters,” the Russian arms control mission in Vienna tweeted on Friday, putting a red circle around the man’s tattoo and posting an enlarged image alongside, showing it more clearly.
“In case you forgot, a Nazi is a Nazi is a Nazi,” the mission added.
The diplomats called the photo “another propaganda stunt to slander Russia.”
