#Soloway
Three events decide this week: core PCE Wednesday at 8:30am, NVIDIA after the bell Wednesday, and Kevin Warsh at Jackson Hole Friday — the last major word before the September 16 Fed meeting. Gareth Soloway maps the levels into all three, plus gold's run into major resistance and why Bitcoin is due a pullback after tagging $80,000.
📐 TODAY'S GAME PLAN
🔴 THE SEMIS — Samsung disappointed on capital returns and the KOSPI fell 3.5%, bleeding into US chips. Gareth sees a big down move as the flagpole and a bearish inside bar that may be a bear flag. Limited damage today, fireworks Wednesday after the close.
🔵 SPY — Boxed between resistance near 7,850 and support near 7,360, both long-term lines: an ascending line back to 2024 through multiple pivot highs, and old resistance that now acts as support. Above the pivot near 7,570 he stays bullish and expects a retest of the upper.
🔴 YIELDS — Last week's real story was not the intervention, it was yields going right back up the next day. A pellet gun, not a bazooka — the market laughed at controlling $40 trillion in debt with $2 billion in buys. Gareth's question for Warsh on Friday: did the Fed sign off on this, or was that Bessent alone?
🔵 BABA — Down on a discounted equity sale to fund AI, dilutive on top of last week's weak earnings. The chart points to a retrace to the scene of the crime with a gap fill near $115, a viable long swing. Watching, not buying.
🔵 DAY TRADES ONLY — Lumentum near $8.20 with the unfilled gap at $7.80. AAOI slid from $125 to near $108; he wants a pierce of $100 or he ignores it. PDD is up on earnings — he will not short a compressed spring at the $93 gap fill, but $96.60–$97 is extended enough.
🟢 GOLD — Up another 1.6% and 18.5% off the $3,900 low in two weeks. The level is here: a trend line off two pivot lows, the 0.50 fib from the all-time high, and a pivot high converging between $4,700 and $4,760. As a gold bull he wants shallow consolidation, not a drop.
🟢 SILVER / NATGAS — Silver runs into resistance at $71–$71.50, with $79 next if it clears. Natural gas attacks the same trend line again — how many times can sellers reject it before it goes?
🔴 BITCOIN — Tagged the trend line off three pivot lows Friday and pulled back. Heavy resistance sits at $80,000, and on probability alone Gareth expects a 50% retrace into $71,000–$73,000 before any next leg.
🔑 KEY TAKEAWAY: A tit-for-tat trade war with Canada opened over the weekend and the market barely blinked. That is the tell — nothing matters until Wednesday. Inflation at 8:30, NVIDIA at the close, and the rest is reaction.

Stock market today: S&P 500, Nasdaq fall as chip stocks sink, US unveils new Iran sanctions
Live updates
Live updates
US stocks closed mixed on Monday as semiconductor stocks fell and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced "Operation Economic Outcast" — a series of expanded sanctions aimed at squeezing Iran.
The S&P 500 (^GSPC) declined by about 0.3%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) dropped roughly 0.8%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) rose by 0.3% as the lone index in the green after the major indexes posted weekly declines.
Investors rotated out of tech names as semiconductor stocks came under pressure. Sandisk (SNDK), Micron (MU), and other memory chip stocks dropped following a report over the weekend that Nvidia (NVDA) plans to raise prices for some of its AI servers.
Stocks were little changed, however, after Bessent outlined a plan to "sever every economic lifeline" to Iran and isolate the nation. In a press conference on Monday afternoon, Bessent detailed expanded sanctions on Iran and on any country that deals economically with it, stating that countries with ties to the regime will be "removed from the US dollar system."

#Soloway breaks down the full case for gold heading toward roughly $13,000, walking the technicals and the fundamentals side by side to show why this bull market is far from finished.
Gareth starts on the spot gold chart, where a powerful wedge breakout has pushed price into near-term resistance. He explains why a short-term pullback is likely even while the bigger trend points higher. From there he flips to the monthly logarithmic chart and lays out three separate trend lines, drawn off decades of pivots, that all converge on the same zone: roughly $11,000 to $13,000 in the 2029 to 2031 window. That kind of technical confluence, lining up with the fundamentals, is exactly what Gareth looks for in a high-probability read.
Then Gareth opens the free gold calculator on VerifiedInvesting.com and walks through the four forces driving his projection: the pace of U.S. debt issuance, global money supply growth, rising fiat mistrust, and real interest rates drifting toward zero. He explains why global money supply, not the dollar index, is the real gauge for gold, and why every major fiat currency is sinking together. He adjusts the inputs live so viewers can watch the peak target shift, then shows how anyone can run their own numbers.
The gold calculator and the full institutional research report, "The Gold Clock Is Speeding Up," are free to everyone with a VerifiedInvesting.com account. No B.S., just data and charts.
