Stocks rebound from Fed day sell-off, led by Microsoft and chipmakers:

Live updates

U.S. stocks rose Thursday, rebounding from the prior day’s selloff when the Federal Reserve decided to hold rates steady. Microsoft and semiconductors helped drive those gains.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 308 points, or 0.6%. The S&P 500 advanced 1%, while the Nasdaq Composite climbed 2%.
Microsoft jumped 11% amid growth from its Azure business. Semiconductors jumped as a result, with the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) higher by more than 5.8%. In contrast, Meta Platforms was down 9% after issuing a soft revenue forecast and a 91% drop in second-quarter free cash flow...

The Fed held rates, then Kevin Warsh talked tough without the substance to back it β€” and the market dumped 1.5% to 2% in the final hour. The 30-Year Yield hit a high not seen since 2007. But the real story is Korea: the KOSPI fell only about 1% after two straight limit-down days, and that stabilization is lighting a fire under the chips. Gareth said he'd buy semis yesterday, he did, and he's already banking profits. On today's Trading Game Plan, he walks the long book, the trend line that decides everything, and unveils his free institutional gold report.

πŸ“ TODAY'S GAME PLAN

🟒 KOSPI / SEMIS β€” Korea holding after two limit-down days is the tell. Gareth bought chips yesterday and is taking profits into the rip, playing for a short-term 10–20% bounce, not a bottom call.
πŸ”΅ SPY β€” Heavily long short term, but the wedge broke down and the parallel off the 2021 high is right here. Lower highs are in; lower lows are the last piece. A confirmed failed breakout flushes toward 7,000.
πŸ”΄ 30-YR / 10-YR YIELD β€” The 30-Year hits a high last seen in 2007 as debt nears $40T β€” very bad for mortgages. The 10-Year closed near 4.7%.
πŸ”΅ DXY β€” Dollar falls even as yields rise, a rare divergence: the market read Warsh as all talk, no backbone.
🟒 SNDK β€” Pierced the key trend-line zone overnight and is bouncing hard off the lows toward Gareth's upside target.
🟒 ARM / LRCX β€” Arm crushed on earnings then ripped roughly 25% off the after-hours lows; Lam Research back at the highs.
🟒 QCOM β€” Gareth bought it pre-market. Weak earnings came from high memory prices throttling phone demand; his thesis is easing memory prices unthrottle demand over 3–9 months.
🟒 MSFT β€” The golden ticket: steady CapEx plus better cash flow guidance equals a V-bottom bull flag ripping higher. Day-trade short only on a gap fill.
πŸ”΄ META β€” Punished for raising CapEx with its worst cash flow in years. Must recapture the trend line near $550 or the gap fill near $400 comes into play; day-trade pivot near $520.
πŸ”΄ AAPL β€” Gareth's only short, held into earnings on the extension.
🟒 GOLD β€” Trying to break out above the wedge. The free report's base case projects the next bull-cycle peak at roughly $13,000 between 2029 and 2031, with current conditions alone pointing just over $10,000 by 2031–2033.
πŸ”΄ SILVER β€” Still the weaker metal, well below resistance.
πŸ”΅ US OIL / NATGAS β€” Oil eases even after overnight strikes on Iran; natural gas holds its long-term trend line.
🟒 BITCOIN β€” Near-term bullish; a break of $67K and it's rock and roll.

πŸ”‘ KEY TAKEAWAY: There's a recipe for mega caps right now. Raise CapEx and go cash-flow negative and you get slaughtered. Hold CapEx steady and guide cash flow higher and you rip. Microsoft and Meta reported the same night and proved it.
