This morning (30th), the HSI opened 67 points higher before struggling between bulls and bears. The HSI closed at 25,858, up 50 points or 0.2%, with full-day 

turnover reaching HKD304.894 billion. The HSCEI closed at 8,644, up 21 points or 0.25%. The HSTECH came under pressure and closed at 4,803, down 60 points or 1.25%.

Singapore stocks fall after Fed holds rates; STI down 0.7%

Singapore stocks ended lower on Thursday (Jul 30) after the US Federal Reserve held interest rates steady in a widely expected decision.

The benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) lost 0.7 per cent or 39.61 points to finish at 5,673.58.

DFI Retail Group : D01 -4.83% led the gainers on Singapore’s blue-chip index, rising 4.5 per cent or US$0.16 to US$3.74.

The worst performer among STI constituents was Keppel : BN4 +1.72%, which fell 4.3 per cent or S$0.52 to S$11.48.

The three local banks ended lower. DBS : D05 +0.47% lost 0.2 per cent or S$0.15 to S$74.85, OCBC : O39 +1.14% fell 2.3 per cent or S$0.68 to S$29.10, and UOB : U11 +0.83% was down 0.02 per cent or S$0.01 at S$43.88.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gained 0.2 per cent, Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.7 per cent, and the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI advanced 0.3 per cent. South Korea’s Kospi, meanwhile, was down 1.2 per cent...
