Adolf Hitler declared May 1st a national holiday in Germany for the first time in 1933, calling it the "Day of National Labor" (Tag der nationalen Arbeit).

❌ — The combined WWI and WWII memorial in Feldmoching, a rural suburb in northern Munich.

The WWI memorial features a soldier statue.
The inscription reads:

"In firm loyality 1914 To our heroes 1918"

And on the WWII memorial:

"To our fallen and missing soldiers 1939 1945 and in honoring remembrance to our fellow citizens who had to flee from bombs and who died at the end of the war"
