Why Fatah-4 fails:
- Subsonic speed allows a longer interception window compared to supersonic threats.
- India's Barak-8 has a success rate of over 90% against cruise missiles.
- The integrated radar network lessens the terrain-hugging advantage
Fatah-4 vs BrahMos comparison:
Fatah-4 flies at about 865 km/h (Mach 0.7). BrahMos exceeds 3,000-3,500 km/h (Mach 2.8-3) and is supersonic. As a result, defenders have roughly 3-4 times more reaction time against Fatah-4; the PAF failed to intercept even an accidental #BrahMos.
Operational context:
During the May 2025 tensions, India's defence systems intercepted over 40 Pakistani drones and missiles, including Fatah-II. The Barak-8 successfully shot down a Fatah-II near Sirsa. Paks HQ-9 systems failed against Indian cruise missiles multiple times.
Bottom line:
With a 750 km range and subsonic design, its survivability remains questionable. India's established multi-tier defence (S-400, Barak-8, Akash) greatly limit its effectiveness. It is more symbolic than a game-changer against India's integrated air defence network.
DRDO's CHESS seeks partners to develop a 300 kW high-power laser weapon with a 50-70 cm adaptive telescope, wide-field periscopic head, and 17 km jitter control. Designed for mobile & airborne use, it aims to defend against drones & missiles.Born from border lessons, DRDO’s 300 kW laser aims to give India gigawatt-class precision strikes on UAVs and projectiles. With trials set for 2027, the mobile laser weapon improves India’s self-reliance and advantage in directed-energy air defence.

Thread🧵: Unrest in #POK has now entered its 2nd week. 12 civilians are killed and hundreds injured in clashes with #Pak forces. This comes amid a total communications blackout since Sep 28. Protesters are voicing their anger over decades of exploitation under #Islamabad’s rule.
The primary focus of these protests is a 38-point #charter. It calls for an end to privileges for the elite, the removal of 12 refugee seats in the assembly, subsidies for basic needs, royalty payments for hydropower, and real #AdministrativeAutonomy.
POK generates 1,400 MW at Mangla Dam, but locals pay more per unit than consumers in Punjab. Even after producing 250 billion units by 2010, POK shared no revenue. Families displaced by the dam still do not have reliable water and livelihoods.
Decades of #deforestation have reduced POK's forest cover from 42% in 1947 to less than 14% today. Timber mafias, supported by #military, steal timber while local people watch as valuable forests disappear. This situation has harmed agriculture, tourism, and the region's ecology.
Indian J&K has a projected growth rate of 7.06%. It features strong #highway, tunnel, and #hydropower projects, along with more than 35 higher-ed institutions. In contrast, POK suffers from a lack of #development. Its key sectors: health, education, and transport are underfunded.
#HumanRights in POK: include arbitrary arrests, enforced disappearances, torture, and press censorship by ISI. Protesters face live fire and mass detentions. In contrast, Indian J&K has democratic governance, local legislative autonomy, and ranks high in governance index.
The POK protest is a historic pushback against 75+ years of colonial-style exploitation by Pakistan. Global attention and accountability are overdue. #FreePOK #POKProtests #Kashmir #HumanRights@NetramDefence

#Russia will supply RD-93MA engines for #Pakistan’s JF-17 Block III. #India has raised objections. The move could affect India-Russia defense ties, enhance #PAF capabilities, and prompt recalibration in South Asia’s airpower balance.
