MINDSET SESSION MAINS23:

-Anxiety=Fear of uncertainty, if you reduce uncertainty, anxiety goes away.

-Hype around this exam creates this fear. Why hype? Vested interests: People clearing, foundation courses, भेड़। Simple school like subjective exam otherwise.

-Vertical Evaluation, as copy evaluation draining, boring plus time constraint. So structure over anything else i.e. it should look relevant in the first go.

-Amor Fati: Accept thy fate, can't fight against luck so might as well not fight it. Multiple evaluaters, copy evaluated before yours etc.(20 mark diff per paper potentially)

-Exam attempt: Classify based on comfort in 7 mins prior to 9/2! Don't attempt first 3 Qn in the last moments.

-Be aware of your rights, don't let a novice invigilator give you a handicap.

-Marks range is wide, not 3-5, it is 0-8(for a 10 marker) so perform well in easy questions: Highest 158 in GS3,2017 and 162 in GS4,2019!

-Stay clear of just world fallacy. You're enough no matter what the outcome.

-Every single minute matters, have a bottle near you, avoid getting up from your seat for those 3 hours.

-Simulate best and worst case: People who cleared still haven't anyway achieved nibbana(Royal Entry, Insta validation seeking, further life challenges) and Yours truly after exhausting all attempts hasn't felt the fulfillment he feels rn despite not clearing. This exam is neither the end nor a new beginning. It's just an EXAM!

-Label physiological response(Butterfly in stomach, shivering) as Excitement rather than Fear. Labelling helps you stay in control.

-Write your fears on a paper and invalidate them with logic one at a time.

-Stay away from people discussing papers. Nobody knows exactly what you'll score. Believe that uncertainty will play to your advantage and not against it.

-Don't judge your performance on the go. AIR4, 2015 thought GS2 went worst, while they scored the highest. BELIEVE!

-Be ready for surprises. You don't have to outrun the bear, just the competition.

-Doubt handling!

Best wishes for Mains 23 Guys. Feel free to ask any followups. You'll do great.

Guys, first of all accept my kind regards. When I took a break from making the modules in July, I gave all the enrolled students a chance to get refunds.

I was honestly expecting all of you to get a refund so that you can invest your capital alternatively if need be. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect what happened next.

Nearly nobody barring 5-10% of students asked for a refund. The helpdesk was told that you were looking forward to me taking a break and that you would wait for the course to resume. I was honestly overwhelmed, I still am.

Now that I'm back, I feel rejuvenated. The video shooting has begun and the quality of videos and content has been upgraded. I've incorporated your feedback to make the pedagogy more engaging, fun and having a vernacular component too.

I've no doubt that I'll provide 100x return on your trust and support you've provided so far in the form of a never before seen quality of content. You'll find the videos in your dashboard starting this week.

Best wishes.

When I released Sherlocking Mains, the helpdesk was flooded with queries about what the course was about? Students were confused with the vocabulary.

"Ye syllabus parsing, PYQ mapping क्या जुमलेबाजी हैं। हमने तो सुना हैं, content is the king 👑! हमें नही समझ आता ये खेल। Telegram par foundation ki free video ka link do bas 😈"

Now here was my opinion on those videos.
https://t.me/UPSCneil/19293

And here was my orientation video that intended to answer your questions.
https://youtu.be/9yxBaFAOa-w?feature=shared

But I still feel that awareness generation about these concepts become important otherwise, merchants of chaos suggesting "गधा मजूरी is essential", and "छी छी, You're a failure if you don't have a superhuman memory and don't study for 12hrs" will reign supreme.

So I'll take free weekly sessions with the community to help you understand:
"The most efficient तरीका to study"!

My modules cover the execution with hand holding but even if you don't enroll, the free sessions will show you the way to walk on your own if you so desire.

This week's discussion would be on "Syllabus Parsing", and our end game would be to "Use syllabus pointers as a cheat sheet", so that we can "Generate a lot of points" on seemingly difficult questions.

Will share the link closer to the meet. Watch out the space for updates!

Course Update:

The syllabus parsing video for Art & Culture has been uploaded. Unfortunately I shot my video on 4k which was too huge(16GB) to be processed well. So this video just has the screen recording from the IPad.

I personally believe that a human touch is essential for quality pedagogy so a human face, expressions and presence elevate the learning and retention. Be rest assured that we'll have that from succeeding videos.

Happy learning!
