7 DEADLY SINS OF UPSC PREPARATION

1. Current Affairs without Static
This leads to lack of understanding of fundamentals and inability to form linkages across papers.

2. Mocks without PYQs
The gravest of all sins with no possible redemption.

3. Hardwork without Breaks
This strategy is often attempted by ‘serious aspirants’ to achieve superproductivity but is actually counterproductive.

4. Mains without Answer Writing Practice
Often results in phenomenons like - non completion of paper, generic content, lack of brain-hand coordination.

5. Answers without IBC Format
A good structure is a prerequisite of a good answer and to compensate for the average content.

6. Learning without Revision
The most difficult part of the process is revision, but the number of revisions has a direct correlation to recall time.

7. Planning without Execution
Fancy, colourful planners and a new time table every fortnight do more harm than good. A plan is as good as its execution, right?

Last two weeks have been transformative for me in more way than one!(ज़िन्दगी बदल देने वाले)!

As is evident from our discussions earlier, I'll be opening up the Answer Writing Evaluation from tomorrow.

I was earlier not looking forward to it because it's really draining if I have to give you actual improvement amd not a generic template.

On the othet hand, I also had to respect the trust put in me by a lot of you who understand the value I bring.

So as a compromise, I decided to start the evaluation for a limited time on first come first serve. I will try to deliver the evaluation asap, from anywhere within 6hrs to 48hrs at the latest.

I wanted to finish this break by seeking inspiration from the sharpest mind of the last century!

Bapu, as we know him, was a man of not only the highest virtues but also possessed intelligence beyond majority of the mortals who ever walked on the face of this planet!

He had the tactical nous of being able to bring masses into the fight against british oppression. It was a watershed moment for our independence journey at a testing time!

The past couple months have been testing times for me too! And hence I decided to go to his abode in Sabarmati, spend some time there and maybe seek inspiration and blessings from him.

I was fortunate. It worked! Not only do I feel rejuvenated, but I think I can deliver what the ecosystem needs, while making it sustainable for me.

Hopefully you guys will experience the value first hand!
